I have lived in this town my whole life and every station does a traffic report, but it's rush hour and if you drive it daily you know basically how long it takes.

If there is a major shutdown, that's basically all I ever want to know.

I think Jen jen can handle the one time a month we need to say 'Dempster is closed' or 'lincoln highway is shut down'

That's all I need.

Traffic is done by an entity separate from the stations. That entity solicits "brought to you by" type sponsorships and buys time from the stations to air a traffic report laced with promotional messages.

Thanks to XM, I can get Chicago traffic any time I want. And I agree, AM drive traffic report should be "Traffic sucks everywhere, but here are the accidents and lane closures....."

Is there really a morning where traffic isn't bad ? Most people take the same routes to work each day, but about the only benefit I can see is that if there is an accident that hoses up traffic, and you happen to hear it, and can change your route, then it helps. Other than that, here's your traffic update - it sucks every day.

I believe it was the heart test clinic. Jokes linking degenarate wagering habits and cardiovascular health are welcome.
