RPB has an opinion = clearly it's right and there is to be no debate on it unless you a are just a terrible person that hates charity

That is not even in the realm of accurate

The way Don presents things, rolls his eyes at differning opinions, italicizes the word CLEARLY, underlines the word fact (when it's clearly an opinion) and acts like he's the authority is why he fits that description.

There is no opinion, Hank. Its like one of those Rolling Stones are better than One Direction things. Complaining about the method by which someone is doing charitable work is bitchy. It just is.

And knowing that doesnt make me smart. It's common sense when you think about it.

Dont hide behind "it's an opinion" as if all opinions are equal. I know you dont believe that.

There are wrong opinions. This isnt one of them. I can support donating to charity and still complain about the matter in which it is organized. If I mugged people and then gave all the money to charity can someone bitch about it or is it that a wrong opinion? What if I was scamming seniors out of money to donate to cancer research? What if hacked into bank accounts and donated 10 dollars from people without their knowledge? I'm not equating the ice bucket challenge to theft, just pointing out that your whole premise of charity being beyond reproach is faulty.

I guess I have to say Legal Charity.

Whatever. Enjoy the fist shaking, gents.

I dont want to argue. I just dont understand that view of the world in general. But I dont have to understand it. Its your guys views and that's fine. I shouldnt attempt to change it. I just disagree.

then perhaps you'd like to give an example that doesn't involve something illegal...

I dont think I need to, I was going for the extreme to point out the faulty logic: Anything related to charity is untouchable.

For a non illegal example: My foundation is for Breast Cancer research, I advertise all over the place, I create events and travel all over the country for it. Because of this only 3% of your donation goes towards actual research. The rest is advertising, travel, admin expenses. Can we criticize this foundation or because a small amount of money is helping it washes out the huge waste of donated dollars?

I specifically said it wasnt. I was reaching into the extremes to make my point.

I am still high as shit, in case anyone wondered. Does this stuff wear off? I think we should all get along.

Ok, well that seems borderline illegal (I believe you need to meet certain % criteria to be even considered a charity)

But fine, then i was wrong in saying its above reproach

But the bucket challenge and the guy walking to Arizona are not hurting anyone or being shady. Both donated huge sums of money compared to their goals and helped the cause. I find complaints about that to be nauseating

Check out the fail compilations   ... But I get your point in the larger sense.

It's the disingenuousness (I probably spelled that wrong...) of it that makes me nauseated by it. It's like biting on tinfoil. I know its for a good cause but I cant look past it. <continues shaking fist at sky>

Nothing is off limits for criticism.

But it's hard to criticize something for charity.

But it's still possible.

But it's rare and kind of picky.

But some of the people and tactics are still obnoxious.

But in the whole scheme of things, oh well.

Yeah, but still annoying.

Maybe.

The worst people aren’t the hashtag activists—they’re the ones sitting behind their computers and typing angry prose of disapproval. You know the type, the ones who point out how unrealistic something is when they’re watching a Seth Rogen movie. We know the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge isn’t perfect, just like we know that Seth Rogen couldn’t possibly launch into the ceiling if he sat on an airbag.

I thought writers for Vice were supposed to be good. I'm sitting here asking "Seth Rogen?!?" like Matt Vasgersian asking "George Clooney?!?"

Wow. This is like a public service announcement as to why you shouldn't do drugs.

Wasted weed?

Yeah. That means smoking with someone who sucks when they're high and therefore the weed was wasted. Your hoops friend wasted weed. You would have understood this if you were a person who could handle their drugs.

My kid forced me to do this today. I don't feel like I helped anyone do anything. Charitable donation coming soon.

i've typed "nah i'm good" a few times this week. we are ALL about ourselves somewhat as much as we might think we aren't. good for the foundation to take advantage of it and get some good out of it. people ranting about narcissism are just as annoying as the people dumping buckets of water over their head about a disease they probably have no idea about.
