I did it. It's silly and definitely an "attention whoring" type thing, but who cares? I just did the video and will also be donating. In my video, I challenged anyone who can afford to, please donate to whatever charity the deemed worthy.

The methodology of charity is kind of close to me. We jam a LOT of charitable events. We don't charge to play these events, but we do get some exposure and make new friends and spread the word about our music, but the primary thing is trying to help the charity. It still benefits the charity, but it serves a "purpose" for us as well. It would be nice if we had a bigger draw to really help any charity we work for, but that's how shit goes.

I'm sure there's some insincerity in some of these challenges, but for the most part, I think people are trying to do good. (without using the good deed to justify some asshole activity down the road)
