You expect Bryant to equal or beat that average?

Ramirez played 7 full seasons (123+ games) with the Cubs. He played in 80 games 1 season and 60 games the season he was traded here. In his 7 full seasons (123+ games) he hit 209 home runs. That's an average of 30 home runs a year. In those 7 full seasons he had 702 RBI. That's an average of 100 RBI a season. If you add his numbers together from his 2 partial seasons he still has 30 home runs and over 100 RBI. In his 4,232 plate appearances (in a Cubs uniform) he hit a few ticks above .294.

I do not expect Bryant to be better but I would LOVE if he were.

What a fucking clown  ....you want to dismiss the seasons where he had injuries and performed at a lower level as a result of them. Doesn't work that way. You have to take ALL the seasons and average out the numbers 24/85 is the result.

 Are you upset that your made up numbers were off? You realize I posted a link so everyone can see for themselves? In his 63 games after the trade, he hit 15 home runs and had 39 RBI. In his 80 game season (cut short by injury) he hit 15 home runs and had 65 RBI and hit .317.

My numbers are correct. You don't get to dismiss years he had lower totals and use injuries as an excuse to dismiss them. You have to total ALL the years he was with the Cubs for the entire season and average the totals 9 seasons - 219 Homers and 767 RBI averages out to 24.3 Homers and 85.2 RBI. You don't get to dismiss seasons like his last 3, where he had 15/65 in 2009, 25/83 in 2010 and 26/93 in 2012 just because it makes you look stupid. Injuries are a part of the game and they factor into career totals and as a result, career averages.

In any case, Bryant will surpass those numbers and be the superior player.

There is no math that gets you to 219 HR and 767 RBI. Just give it up. My information is accurate and backed up by links.

Your math is wrong. Open up your calculator and do 219/8.

Also, do 767/8.

This is a pretty epic "Oh no" post though.

That would help. Giving him credit for the 36 home runs he hit in 2004 would help too.

Actually the numbers add up correctly, but it is 8 full seasons with the Cubs, not 9. So the averages are actually 27/95.
Still short of the 30/100 you misrepresented, but better than the 24/85 I had earlier misrepresented being correct.

It looks like Steve had wrong HR totals for two seasons too.

So, that is another 5 home runs total. 28 home runs a year.

Looks like "simple math" isn't so simple.

You would still be wrong. He he 36 home runs in 2004. That would bring his average to 28. Even with you punishing him for missing 80 games due to injury 28 HR and 95 RBI is a lot closer to 30 and 100 than they are to your numbers. This is very simple math Steve.

2005 was 31 home runs too.

By the way, 2005.

You realize the Cubs will be lucky if just one of those guys ends up being good right? Or even plays up to his potential ? The rest could be .240 hitters . It's highly doubtful they all become solid major league contributors . Id pump the brakes a bit .

I would bet you a thousand dollars that Bryant hits at least 25 homers and knocks in at least 90 runs in 2015 or 2016 at the major league level. I think his numbers will be considerably better, but I see that as his basement.

Well lets consider this for a moment. Is that $1,000 bet using your math or correct math?

I indicated that my numbers were off and he averaged 27 and 95. But that still isn't the 30/100 NAS represented he had averaged, so I was right to say that those numbers were wrong. My initial numbers were incorrect, but all the while his averages were/are less than the 30/100 NAS quoted.

You still can't count. If we are using your definition of a full season it's still 28 and 95. Which is still much better than 24 and 84.

Which is short of the 30/100 you represented being his averages.

44% K rate. Second in the majors this year in 4 strikeout games.
