I'm a biker. I have '98 Harley-Davidson FXD. It's in my top 5 favorite things in life. Coincidentally, last September I took a position at the Corporate HQ of a certain Motorcycle Corporation headquartered in Milwaukee. I try to drive very defensively. I don't like riding faster than 70 mph. I do not under any circumstances ride on the shoulder or inbetween lanes. When I get home past 10:00 pm, I never rev my bike and try to be as considerate to my neighbors as possible. I try to ride with people that believe the same.

That being said, I am in the minority with my biking philosophy....regardless if it's a Harley or a crotch rocket.

As much as I love my motorcycle, I agree with this nomination.

It's only legal in California where they still say it must be done in a safe manner. It also would matter if it was illegal for him to open his door at that time.

I wouldn't want the motorcyclist to be injured. Maybe just give him a huge fine and six months in jail.
