This is such a breath of fresh air. Wonderfully thought provoking characters, great premise and through the first 2 hours, just mesmerizing.

A guy who was on death row for 19 years is let out due to a technicality because of DNA evidence basically clearing him of a rape and murder for which he was convicted. Through the first 2 episodes, we're not entirely sure what to think of the man who has been set free, but we're drawn to the character, and all the characters surrounding him.

this is a show that builds with character development, and the acting is top notch.

for anyone who has this channel, definitely give this a look. i'd also recommend their other show, a miniseries that just finished up, called "top of the lake".

Can't remember where I saw the ads for this... TNT during basketball maybe? Glad I did, because I thought the 2hr first episode was really good. Interested to see where this goes.

It's not a channel I would ever stumble across. U-Verse its 798.

When I heard the title, I thought it was a gay-porn version of Justified.

renewed for a second season. the first 6 episodes were awesome. i haven't been this excited about a show in a long time, though i never got to get into "breaking bad" so i'll have to catch that after it's over and i've heard that's a great show as well.

what i love about this show is that there is never a clear cut "good" or "bad" person, but there are people you sympathize or empathize with. and the lead actor, aden young, deserves a slew of awards for his portayal of daniel.

this is an excellent show. really looking forward to the next season, in 2014...gonna be a long wait.

this came back 2 weeks ago, just watched the premiere tonight. i need to refresh myself on a few details for some of the characters but again this show continues to be wonderfully done.

very thick on character development and the mystique of daniel holden is still riveting to me.

this show wrapped up last thursday and i just finally caught up the finale last night. for anyone who is on the fringe or doesn't know about the show, i highly recommend it. it was just renewed for a third season, too, so it's not going to leave you hanging. the second season finale was breathtaking.

this show is one of the best written of the 21st century.

I'm through the first three episodes on Netflix. Awesome start so far. It's a really interesting show and I like how nobody, even Ted Jr, is a one dimensional character it seems. I'm definitely in. I can see why some people wouldn't like how slow it is.

Yeah he's pretty great.

Loved the scene where he asks about getting a conjugal visit and Daniel responds by telling him his first time getting gang raped.

I do think having 20 scenes an episode of him just staring at shit is kind of overkill, but scenes like the convenience store and the baseball diamond were worth it.

i don't mind it but i would find a montage of "daniel staring" funny because it is true...there's a lot of "reflection" time used in the show.

his exchanges with kerwin are excellent. but even more resonant are the exchanges with the other guy...the total asshole.

The saddest man in the world. That was a great scene.

Finished the first season last night.

Also highly recommend this show.

Heard about this, but not till it season 2 had already started. Didn't know it was on Netflix, I'll definitely give it a look.

Looks like between this and the French show (think it was called Departed), Sundance is putting some quality tv out there.

I didn't realize the first season was on Netflix until a couple days ago when I was browsing it.

Hoping the 2nd season is on demand when I get home later.

Watched the first episode of season 1 last night, liked it a lot.

One scene rubbed me the wrong way and I'm not going to say it now cause it inspired me to make a poll which I'll do in a little bit.

i fucking love aden young. didn't know about this quote that came after season 1. after season 2, i wonder if the critics are still saying the same thing about the pacing.

Quote:
F... 'em. Who cares? There are 600 other channels they can watch. Why would you even give a s...? If you want to bitch about something, f... off, truly. I'm not interested in the idea that you can't change your channel.

It's just a small box, it comes with the TV, it has buttons on it. Take responsibility, instead of complaining.

Oh, it's too slow. Well, you're a f...ing idiot. Really, what is that about?

Finished both seasons the other night. LOVE the show, not happy with how season 2 ended, but I guess that's the point.

When is season 3? Next summer?

that's what i'm thinking, shakes. it seems to be the season for that show. 1st and 2nd were summer.

i was extremely frustrated by the ending--but yeah, that was on purpose. i really can't wait to see where it goes. ray mckinnon's the man.

Just now started watching the 2nd season. Kerwin(sp?) is such a great character.

I really didn't mind the ending. It just sucks having to wait a while for the 3rd season. That would be an all-time shitty ending if the series wasn't renewed though.

Im starting to think Daniel killed her.

I don't think he killed her. He still doesn't know for sure, did you notice how his "confession" was almost word for word rehash of what the rapist guy told him that night they were drinking and doing drugs at the dead guy's place. Its like he was just repeating it to appease the prosecution and end it once and for all.

I did notice that. I dont think he killed her either, but it just started seemingly like a possibility the last few episodes of season 2. I agree with you that he genuinely does not know if he killed her or not.

And fuck his sister. I understand where she's coming from, and she's not a total wet blanket, but this dude was on death row for almost 20 years. He just wants to be assured he will be free from now on. I really cant blame him.

was just coming here to post this!

Hope there is a re-cap cause I kinda forgot everything that happened last season. All I remember is that he plead guilty and agreed to move out of state despite the fact that he's innocent. Don't really remember what's going on with the other characters.

My wife and I are in on this series. I believe it left off where he had to take the plea deal to avoid jail, but it required him to leave area for good.

this show has so much depth and texture. i feel like i want to watch every episode twice or more. lots to digest, but it was, as usual, well executed (no pun intended). the subplot of discovering the body (a little too late now?) may turn into something, and i liked the emptiness that was felt throughout. probably would've helped to watch last season's finale right before hand but about 5 minutes into the episode the mood sets in perfectly.

Clearly the plot line is moving towards the authorities doubting that Daniel is guilty. Now that he admitted his guilt, it has to go the other way. Is it me or did Tawny (sp?) and that waitress both put on a ton of weight for season 3?
