WSCR needs a new personality not another (glorified) Bears beat reporter. I have furniture with more personality than Mannelly.

Say what you will about Berns, but at least there's something to feel. You can love or hate him but at least he incites a reaction that isn't just disengaged ambivalence. There's no risk to Mannelly, he won't do anything that will upset anyone.

But there is a risk, a wheel the Score keeps spinning, that a lineup of robots is going to lose listeners. With Berns act finally wearing stale and reaching it's eventual SJW end, Terry on the verge of officially retiring (he's been gone unofficially for years) and the inability for Leary to not just be creepy and weird the Score needs something new. Mannelly won't be that, he won't be a host who can exert a gravitational pull that rights the SS WSCR.

I guess at some point I'm hoping this will be "entertaining". I don't hate Spiegel and Pat seems like a decent conversationalist. As far as him having a well rounded knowledge of all sports, this board has taught me that very few people in this city doing sports radio are qualified to actually discuss sports, so he seems like a logical choice. If, in fact, he isn't "knowledgeable"...

You get yelled at from 5 AM to 9 AM.

You get smug, bland and never there from 9 AM to 1 PM.

You get yelled at and belittled from 1 PM to 6 PM.

You get Manchild in the evenings from 6 PM to 10 PM.

You get poop in the pants from 10 PM to 5 AM.

I think this is just a tactical error.

The Score real advantage is that they are familiar. It's difficult to switch to The Game to hear a show with mostly guys you've never listened to before.

Now, they are bringing a guy that nobody's listened to before. What's the difference now to switching to Kap & Haugh or Finji, Quiggs, Griff, Hufflepuff, & Horowitz, Esq.? Might as well get to know them.
