To Score670 Management:

Truthfully, it would not take much to fix the show as it stands now. Just go back to the old format and allow for a difference of opinion, so that not every discussion being heard is dishonest and following some liberal agenda talking point. This means actually allowing callers on that disagree with B&B and especially Dan, where they are not instantly cut off by him and subject to ridicule without the caller being able to answer or defend himself. All of the best calls of the past had a good back and forth between the hosts and the caller. Dan is just too thin skinned that he never wants to look bad. Since he's crowned himself emperor of sports radio, he's become deluded into thinking he's beyond criticism.

Also, before Terry has to be put on the physically unable to perform list, the show should be shortened to 3 - 4 hours, not five. 5 hours is grueling even for seasoned broadcasters like B&B. That would allow the material to be more compact and substantive, rather than having segments just to fill air time, and most importantly, Boers would be more refreshed. I don't need to hear Len Kasper every week talk about the bad cubs. On second thought, I don't need to listen to Len Kasper ever, cause the guy is really boring. And they can do away with a number of other segments and guests like this, just keep the good ones - Hub, Bowen, Denardo are all fine. They should have less of Zaidman, who's irritating if he talks too long. Durkin needs to be dropped completely. Wrong voice for radio and especially football. Lastly, they should talk more to athletes themselves when they can and to former athletes, which generally make for interesting conversations.

Dan needs to be put in his place. Cut way back on his liberal agenda talking points, in fact, cut politics out of the show like it used to be. Don't let Dan read e-craps that he himself wrote. Allow Boers to say his mind whenever, even if he disagrees with Bernstein. Bring back honest discussions, and do away with the politically tainted dishonest ones.

And, of course, they should keep Mike from Milwaukee. Hearing Mike is good for the soul.

I have said my peace now. Nothing more needs to be said. Good day all ye Scoreheads.

The obvious answer is to find former Bears to replace them.

Hester & Orton
McClellin & McNown & McCown
Jordan Lynch and that running back everyone used to love every preseason until he was gone.

The only way to fix the show is to put Dan with an engaged host who would push back and challenge him, but there's no one left at the station who fits that description, and even if there were, Dan wouldn't allow it.

Yeah, you can't save it. The Score is finished

With the defeat of Mac BernSTINE has taken over the station 100%. It's done.

Time to find something else.

when i made that bit of very symbolic bnb dance music i titled the album WE'RE REALLY NOT SKIP BAYLESS because like, dude, dan's rosebud is that he's embraced debate except instead of debating terry (because terry's no dummy.... he gets ~500k to only work in the city 3 days a week tops, ~2 days a week he's at home on an ISDN line. so he's gonna rubberstamp everything the social justice warrior (SJW) bernstein says because he's on the path of least resistance to retiring VERY comfortably whenever he does do it, and lets hope he's still sharp enough to crank out the ultimate FUCK YOU / TELL-OFF book when he has no bridges left to burn cuz he's sitting on a few million by now and if he invested wisely..... yeah terry give us the book plz! )

AHEM.

yeah dan doesnt debate terry.... he debates YOU, the dumbass fan who might call up and have the sheer audacity to not be in lockstep with dan. THE SCIENCE IS IN ON VACCINATIONS.... idk about you, but i dont wanna call up and talk about what happened in a sports game.... i wanna hear that THE SCIENCE IS IN ON VACCINATIONS even tho it makes no damn sense to me that unvaccinated people are causing diseases to mutate into killer vaccine-resistant strains because like, clearly these diseases/viruses/etc mutate simply to be proactive. it's not like they encounter a 98% vaccinated population and therefore have trouble surviving and therefore adapt to be resistant to the vaccines in order to survinve.... nope. they find people who they can easily infect and go infect them and while they're there they're like "hey we were hitting a lot of vaccinated people we couldn't infect, so while we infect this rube like we've done since we've first came into existence, we'll mutate into a super-vaccine-destroying strain simply because some people did not get vaccinated

and that, my friend, is the essence of dan bernstein. REALLY. SMART. PEOPLE. that he unequivocally trust write a narrative (THE SCIENCE IS IN! DISEASES MUTATE INTO VACCINE-RESISTANT STRAINS ONLY BECAUSE PEOPLE DON'T GET VACCINATED!) and dan parrots it til the end of time without even using the common sense to think "hey wait a minute.... if a disease's only fundamental goal is to survive, why would a bunch of unvaccinated people be the impetus for it to evolve into a super-strain that takes out vaccines?" i guess the only argument i could see is that the disease is weak and BULLY HENDRY'D </whistler> from coming across 50 people with vaccines then when it finds #51 on its last legs it's like ooooh ok warm host. hey while i'm here easily infecting this guy with no extra effort whatsoever, instead of simply reproducing and moving on i'd better evolve to overcome that vaccine, cuz i sure as shit aint gonna do it out there where everyone's vaccinated.... all i need to mutate into a new superstrain of vaccine-proof disease is just one more unvaccinated host because seriously, where else are you going to get the best source material on teh vaccines and how to overcome them if you're not getting them from people who don't have the vaccines in the first place?

so yeah, terry goes "uhhhh yeah" from home 2-3 times a wee for ~4-5hrs/day and lets dan go on his crusades meanwhile he's got the most posh job in chicago radio and god bless him for that cu he's the longest tenured score guy so go figure he makes the most. and quietly bernstein is the 2nd most tenured.... but you never discuss his salary. i like to think he's paid in warming heart-cackles knowing he's gentrifiend another heart/soul/mind of a chicago sports talk radio listener. HOW. CAN. HE.. TAKE. A. SALARY. FOR. DOING. THE. LORD'S. WORK?

besides i hear lil jay bernstein decided to start playing the stock market 2 years ago and already has a portfolio worth 5.3 million dollars. that kid has it all

i tried searching for that old "hamp and holmes" picture where hampton had his forearm leaning on SHAKE THAT' shoulder so i could go on about how that picture is a metaphor for old athletes abusing their status to take advantage of the dignified rubes @ the radio station for an easy paycheck, but the only close and somewhat apropos picture i could find was this...

There is nothing that can fix this show. You have to start at the top. You need to get rid of Mitch and replace him with someone who is willing to stand up to their hosts. Until you get new leadership you will have hubris, and hate being spewed.

You know, I was thinking the other day that the only reason anyone can stand Francesa anymore must be that a good deal of his callers are on the ball enough to get some good digs in on him -- not that they ever register with him, of course. If Francesa has a NYSFMB, those posters seem to get on the air. There's nothing like that with Bernstein. It's either, like you said, kissasses or total idiots.

Most of Francesa's regular listeners are mouth-breathers, but a growing percentage of them tune in purely ironically. Cf. #MongoNation, #MikeZaun, #Zaunisms, etc. Dan is so grating that he's impossible to enjoy even ironically.

Dan might change when Boers retires but only if he goes solo. If he gets another toady for a partner, like Larry, the bullshit will just continue to be rubber stamped. I doubt Dan would ever allow a partner who is his antithesis. He's too comfortable now and prefers controlling narratives. When he does a show on his own he's not sitting in an echo chamber. Having a human parrot mimic everything you say emboldens a person and makes them confident and assured. Dan's not like that solo. The solo shows still have the belittling and smugness but it's not ratcheted up by a factor of a 1000.
