This is no doubt a huge slap to drinky and Rozner. They got passed over for a long snapper that has 2 mins of radio experience.

It is pathetic.

meatpants is going to be insufferable from here on out.

For the first time I may have to seriously consider checking out the Game or ESPN during mid days.

beardown: super serious question here. What is with your sick fascination with drinky? I used to like him, he got bad, and I will post that he does indeed suck. But holy crap dude, your infatuation with him is scary. How is yet another thread necessary on this? Could people really not do the math that drinky was passed up?

We get it, you are incredibly obsessed with the guy. You LITERALLY post role plays of conversations that you have with him and other people from the station. I've no doubt that you have action figures and/or dolls setup that you play with that represent drinky and goff and Bernstein etc. You have a unique voice for each one, too. An exaggerated black guy voice for Goff, and twirpy nerdy voice for Bernstein. Creepy old guy voice for Terry.

I know you could argue that this whole place, including me, is some sort of study in obsession....but you, Sir, take the cake. You creep me out like no other here - and unlike others here, I won't give you the nod when you "get something right" and I won't power past and accept your "you only hate me because I"m right" or your attempts at self-depracation. Your insistence on creating new threads each and every time that drink makes a solid BM is just gross.

As your guy Goff likes to say, KEEP IT. Keep all of it, beardown, you're a freaking weirdo and while you think you have some sort of lovable goof persona, you're wrong.

What's Harry Seward's sick fascination with me?

Somebody start that thread. Give me a summary in a PM. I won't read it.

I'm onto bigger and better things.

Yup, those eyes aren't cut themselves out of the life size drinky cardboard cut out you had made up are they?

While most of this place is your run of the mill, anonymous internet comment section-like drivel .. you are consistently the one who brings the creep factor, and most assuredly you sit comfortably as the leader in the clubhouse of posters who scare the crap out of radio station employees who drop in to see what's being talked about. I know you take pride in the amount of people you've either scared off completely or those that have no choice but to go into lurk-only mode. Huzzah, beardown, bigger and better things indeed.

Patrick Mannelly has no idea that drinky now hates him. He has no idea that the tryout guys are pissed. None. He's oblivious to that. Wait until he finds out how hate works at THE SCORE.

What a charmed life for Mannelly. Probably made over 20 million in his 16 year NFL career. A career where he was never hit and only had to play 8-9 snaps a game, at most. Now he goes to radio where he's making at least 100k a year. And he's gonna be bad and just hope people love him cuz he's a cute Bear.

I don't think it matters that much. Drinky knows his place on the station and I think he is fine with it.

Yeah, Matt was never in this. He must have known that. This was always going to be an ex-Bear (Miller or Mannelly).

Miller at least sounds good on the radio & has broadcasting experience. He would have been a much better choice. I wonder how much input Meatpants had in this decision? No doubt Meat wanted someone with a passive personality like the Snapper. Miller wouldn't let Meat push him around like the Snapper will. I cant wait for the first solo Snapper show.

Won't happen, which is another reason why this show is troublesome: you'll have to replace the driver often, and there aren't a lot of guys who are allowed to sit in the big chair. Off the top of my head, I've got Drinky, Zaidman, Buffone, and Leery.

This pretty much sums up my thoughts, but my plan is Czaban/Pandora/B&B. There really is no good midday option.

Meatpants driving a show will not work. It kind of sucks for Mannelly but he also retired and walked into a job that people are spending years doing grunt work to get so it isn't so bad for him.

Thank you!!
I appreciate all of the kind words and encouraging thoughts throughout the day.
I am excited for my friends, Patrick Mannelly, Matt Spiegel, Jay Zawaski and Nick Shepkowski. I look forward to listening to the Score's new midday show (9a-1p watch670thescore.com).
The Score IS Chicago's number one sports talk station - Chicago's original and Chicago's best. We set the standard in sports talk excellence in the market. With the addition of Pat, we only strengthen our position as THE destination for the Chicago's sports fan.
I am proud to be a part of the Score and today I welcome my new teammate and friend to the family.

Absolutely.

He may as well have said I look forward to reaching across the aisle

Score already has people on the air..that shouldn't be. Obviously.... just because someone is a producer doesn't mean they get pushed up the ladder...."fat drunk and stupid is no way to go through life son" (Drinky). Seriously, Matt needs to accept his fate of being a producer THE REST OF HIS CAREER or go to a smaller market.

On that note...Mitch..are you telling me you had NO OTHER OPTIONS?...Your laziness boggles my fucking mind!

Your not getting shafted when you don't qualify! And BTW he is far from contributing to setting the standard of excellence.

You'll have to wait about a year for that.

Drinky is the hidden jewel of the station. It speaks to his intelligence that he's not seeking a full time spot until 670 stops sending Terry checks. Once Terry's seat is vacated we will be able to see Drinky take his rightful spot on the longest running show on the Score. Dropping out of consideration for the four hour midday show in order to seize the day (when it comes) for spot on the five hour show ensures we all get more of Drinky. It was the right move.

Maybe that is Larry's strategy: "If drafted, I will not run; if nominated, I will not accept; if elected, I will not serve."
