In 6 innings Travis Wood gave up just 2 hits as the Cubs shut out the Reds 3-0. Alcantara had the biggest hit in the game, tomahawking a high fastball for a 2 run homer. Rizzo also homered, for his 30th homer this season. It gives the Cubs a 4 game win streak! Tomorrow Soler joins the team, so will be a game to watch. Cubs playing good ball of late and getting good pitching.

:x After Baez hit a 2 run double in the 8th to bring the Cubs to within 2 runs, Castro hit a ball to straight-away CF that just missed going out and he ends up with a single, thanks to standing at the dish watching the drive, rather than running. :x

And of course theres a single that would've gotten him to at least 3rd and possibly scored him. Now its 1st and 2nd, 1 out.

Yep. Should have scored him. Nice to see the RBI single from Soler in that situation. The HR was great of course, but nice to see the single in a run scoring opportunity.

Only the Cubs can have the opposing starter throw 77 pitches through 3 innings and not have a run to show for it.
