Jason "The Professor" Parks has left BP and is moving to Arizona to work in the scouting department for the Cubs. He had headed up the BP scouting and prospect department ever since KG moved to the Astro's.

I guess those journalists may actually know something about scouting contrary to popular position heldby many esteemed CSEMB members. He is NOT the first and will not be the BP alum to move into the front offices of a MLB team.

You assume success of these individuals. This has not occurred. If it does not occur it is just a bad hire by two questionable organizations.

 I've never heard of a Cub fan assuming success before.

It's the Cub equivalent of Score Search.

Welcome to the team Maya Gavin!

This should really help the rankings of the Cubs minor league system.

Interesting how the Cubs are named "The greatest minor league system in the history of minor league systems" and then they go and hire them.
This leads to these options.
1) The Cubs are trading positive press for jobs.
2) This was the baseball literati sucking up to the Cubs so they could get close to them and eventually get jobs with them.
3) Theo is only interested in Yes Men who want to simply talk about how great he is.

This is troubling for everyone involved.

4) Cubs can use the inflated value of their prospects in future trades to fleece other teams.

Good point.

This may be yet another example of Theo trying to game the system. MLB may need to modify its rules once again to stop him.

The conclusions may be a stretch. It is not a stretch to understand he was analyzing Cub prospects for an independent organization while engaged in negotiations with the Cubs resulting in some bias.

as I have said earlier, everyone used to think ND gained great recruits based on Tom Lemming's scouting until it was discovered that Tom Lemming adjusted his scouting when a recruit chose ND.
