Holy crap, just fired up hour 2 of the show and I cannot understand why Dan thinks that him getting a giant radio boner off of reading Twitter - jacking people's "translation" of the letter for the Commish - and yelling that people are just beginning to absorb this BUT he needs "everyone" to stop saying that this is a DOUGHmestic abuse issue. Because it. is. not. It is about violence.

Sweet Jesus, while I agree (like just about everyone) that this IS important - his over the top, important-radio, super serious reading of really. smart. emails. and. tweets. and. blogs. is just awful. The problem with it all is that Dan gives this same sort of ridiculous important. radio. tone. on topics like this - or Penn State - or the Cubs plan - or Kevin Love - or some stupid dish he and his kid just whipped up last night. He speaks in such a way that he seems to simultaneously wants people to know HOW to think and to be aware of what a giant boner he has right now.

I was reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally excited to listen today, as Larry was not in and I enjoy Rosenbloom in small doses ... but, as has been said, Dan reading Twitter and realizing that he's now been called to duty to properly, and smartly, dissect this latest news is an unfortunate punch to the gut.

It's all so formulaic - of COURSE, after giddily trying to do a radio show AND read the letter AND read his Twitter timeline, the first email in is from "Rudy" - with a really smart, and interesting, take. Gah.

He was wrong on just about every finer point he discussed. If you listen carefully, Ham shifted almost everything Dan stated with such certainty earlier in the show.

As a person who is not in danger of being affected by the Commissioner's ruling, it is sufficient for me to simply know that they have an acceptable policy in place. I do not need to know the particulars. I do not care about the particulars.

I had work behind the cheese curtain yesterday so I spent a lot of time in the car. The conversations and calls got to the point of people discussing how many angels could stand on the head of a pin.
