Everybody kind of missed this. This means Goff asked to come back to THE SCORE. And while he's denying Big Fan's source, if Mitch and Zim were cool with him coming back, then it had to be CBS corporate that said no. Who else would stop it? So Big Fan wins.

Goff didn't realize it but by saying this he actually confirmed the report that he came on here to deny. Goffer!!!!!

The other possibility is that Mitch and Zimmerman were happy to have Goff back as a producer and fill-in host. Seeking a salary that pays more than $45,000/yr, Goff declined the offer.

I doubt corporate blocked Goff's hire. The reality is that his broadcasting skills are still pretty rough. He's clearly not ready to host during prime time in a major market, although I'm surprised he didn't generate better ratings in Atlanta--where English is largely spoken as a second language.

I heard the replay of the Bleacher Report show a couple of times this week on SXM 93. The moment I first picked it up Goff was riffing on "clutch" in a manner that suggested that he was reading it from a Bernstein transcript circa 2011. It was kind of sad. Plus, at least in my car the sxm channels have a tinny sound that is almost worse than AM. His partner seems okay, though he fancies himself an "injury expert" like someone else we know. Meh.
