What about B&B's current show makes it a compelling listen for you?

i guess I'd compare it to discussions on Seinfeld or the Simpsons. I'd agree that it's often not what is was but it's still good for a few laughs and better than the other choices (I honestly don't recall ever laughing at anything I've heard on W&S). As has been written many time on this board - all I ask is to be entertained. For the most part they still meet that need more than the alternatives.

Just FYI: Feder has been aware of this since at least May (when he claimed that he didn't know about it, and was "shocked"). This was also when both of the email for the state's aging dept were notified. So none of this will be the first that anyone we're emailing will have technically heard of this.

Glad everyone is banding together, there's just no defending this.

I'll speak for myself and say I don't hate Danny (well, maybe a little) because he can still do a fun show, but I hate what his show has become and I think this bit is the perfect example of his hypocrisy. I think many of us just want him to go back to what made his show popular to begin with.

Correct. Dan being a goofy asshole is why I originally liked him.

Dan being a self-righteous, insufferable, preachy, and occasionally even sickening (Bob in Niles, for example) hypocrite is why I've grown to hate him. And we probably wouldn't care if we all hadn't liked his show at one time. B & B used to be a big part of my life, which sounds sad but is true.

There's also a part of it that's principle. I don't like blowhard hypocrites to think they have moral high ground. He needs to be put in his place, and this bit needs to end because it seriously makes me sick to my stomach.

There are glimpses of what used to be - hell, every once in awhile Terry sounds like the Terry from the Heavy Fuel Days.

What I don't get with Bernstein, and just about the entire station (including the update and weekend guys), is the utter disdain for the generic Chicago sports fan. Why? Why is this good radio? I am all for mocking the truly mockable knuckle draggers, but less you being a drooling sycophant like Bill on Capitol Hill or Schmutize or the creep from the Quad Cities....they just look for a reason to get enraged by callers/texters/emailers etc. It's, ironically, really dumb radio.

The hypocrisy of all of this is the worst. A guy who can sit there and guffaw and knee slap while an old man tries to remember a name or continues to not use the proper "pie scale", is the same guy that will look for a daily torch. One day it's Penn State. The next day it'll be "everyone" and how they're reacting to a little league team the wrong way. Then it's on to doughmestic abuse and diddling priests. But, no worries, and these raging hypocrites still love to objectify women at EVERY turn (while, in the same breath, dismantling the NFL for their treatment of Ray Rice and the laughable mess that the breast cancer awareness month is). The hypocrisy is, indeed, endless here.

Screw Dan. Screw Terry, too, but at this point I almost give him a pass as it'd be impossible for him to actually try to disagree with the raging rectum he is paired up with. I'm ecstatic that the ratings have dropped, and while I'm not one to usually root for someone to fail - in this case I do. I hope the smug attitude and awfulness towards old/compromised people comes back to bite him in the ass.

Once upon a time, the Score was in a veritable golden age of people saying dumb shit on the radio: between North, Fred, Murph, George, Jesse, and their callers, someone had to make fun of all this rampant stupidity, and that's what B&B did so well. Now that more or less the entire station is Bernstein-approved, they're not an alternative to the rest of Chicago sports talk, they are Chicago sports talk. That there aren't as many dipshit co-workers -- or rather there are, but they're strangely off-limits -- to mock has changed the tenor of the show. Remember when the Score did those stupid "Best of the Best" promos and Matt/Jason would follow up the "best" of North with "whaaaat?" or "gay"? That whole subversive spirit is gone now. What felt like popping the balloon of dumb loud sports talk has become nothing but punching down.
