Perhaps, but he'll fuck up the quote function in the process.

Baez is going to bash. Keep him at 2B. I'll take 30 bombs from 2B all day long! Who cares if he hits .225. He is going to drive in 70+ and play an above average 2B.

Castro is gone.

The Zero hustle has dug his own hole.

Baez is a better SS right now, great arm, better range.

Look for a castro trade for a true leadoff man in the offseason.

In spite of the Cubs/Sox divide between us, I've always considered you an intelligent baseball guy. Please tell me you're not basing success on 10 or 20 or 50 at-bats.

I flip on for my 5 minute monthly Cub hit last night. 2-1 game. After a Ligue runs on the field on St. Louis, long delay, pitcher is standing around....Castro hits a high fly, loafs out the box, realizes it might be in play, turns on the gas, never, not once looks at the 3B coach and gets gunned out at third.

Len Rongey: "Castro just misses a homer!"

Hatch it is known that people in mourning run the bases .372 seconds slower than average. Can't blame Starlin for that. It is known.

haugh kept giving the excuse about mourning issue and I would have been OK with it, if it hadnt happened before.

Its easy to correct and easy to see if it is corrected. Just run hard on every play.

I never understood, even in softball, I ran hard on everyplay, with the thought that the guy might juggle the ball, maybe the 1st baseman drops it, etc etc.

Its the one thing I even made 9 and 10 year olds do! 'till semi exhaustion. I didnt care if we are practice or not. its how I was taught.

doesnt take talent at all, its 100% mental.

It's like hoop, when a guy goes to argue with a ref that he was fouled. NOT YOUR JOB. Go play D.!

yeah the twitterverse was essentially saying the same thing the other night when he did it . Give him a break , he's in mourning . Total bullshit.

I don't think he is as lazy as he is unable maintain a normal attention span. On that pop fly he chased down in left field last night you could see coghlan tell him to pay attention to the runner. He looked like he was going to aimlessly float in the the outfield with his back turned to the infield.

We"ll see how much people are inclined to overlook these continued mental lapses when the Cubs start playing games that matter . It's easy when it's September and you're 14 games under to allow for it. Different story if that game was for first place .

I think your 2016 SS is Addison Russell... but, you could have your SS that plays third (Castro?), or your SS that plays 2B, or your SS that plays CF move over there

what's the infatuation with this guy? after four years is he going to emerge as a better player? .280 15HR no walks, subpar defense. big deal.

That's a good offensive player these days. Put him at 2nd and you got an all star

I think Castro will come around to a certain extent but he clearly doesn't have great base running skills and that is due to a lack of instinct. The lack of hustle issue has to be addressed by RR however. There is absolutely no excuse for that but he is not the only player that does that in today's game and he is just going to have to be coached to run hard and to pick up his base coaches. Period.

What he does have is exceptional skill at running down pop ups and clearly he can hit. And his defense has improved this year too. I'm sure they will listen to offers but I am not trading him unless they get proven MLB talent back. And given his extremely favorable long term contract you can't give this guy away unless you are getting at minimum equal value back.

Certainly not.... really need at least 200 AB's and a few times around the league to see what shakes out.

Any of them could flounder and ultimately fail but just as easily any one of them could be a perennial All-Star and maybe even an MVP and after 15 years who knows if Cooperstown knocks.

I think the one thing in the Cubs favor is that there isn't one of two of them. Certainly the idds changes when you 3,45 or even 6 top guys.

He is not even playing a very good 2B.

The SS of the future is Russell. Castro will hold the spot for at least another half year.
