I feel a bit like these holier-than-thou "I won't ever use the Redskins name again" people. After years and years and years of saying it, consuming games played by the team that is called Redskins, and otherwise just funneling my money (both directly and indirectly) into the NFL's coffers....I am now suddenly outraged by the name, disgusted by those that don't understand why, and need something done about it IMMEDIATELY.

This bit has always bothered me - I really can't recall if I ever even found it to be amusing/sweet/whatever, I think (at most) that I found it off-putting that these guys were actively producing segments around Bob. I've posted here about it before - I've had my family listen to it, to see if I was just overreacting - but I continued to (sometimes angrily) listen to the show. I'd be a great candidate for Who Ya Crappin?

All that said, it's become painfully clear that Dan/Terry/show staff/station mgt have not tired of this or done anything to put an end to it - I think part of me was assuming that they eventually would just quietly bullet the segment. Much like the Count Fagula and Gay drops, they would just go away - perhaps during an Ask Us Anything they would mention that Bob was really starting to drift more than they realized, and what they were doing was (at least) bordering on exploitation. BUT NO. This isn't happening on it's own. It takes an idiot that goes by the name HARRY SEAWARD to suddenly get pissed, and for other like-minded folks, to finally burst and start flooding emails/social media/media for it to even be addressed. CRAZY.

I still don't know what happened with Kid Cairo or those other guys, but I'm sure someone like him could (without too much trouble) whip together a nice YouTube mashup video where still of Bob are shown as audio of the most cringeworthy moments are played in the background. Send it to Dan. Ask him if that's funny? Should this be used as weekly comedy fodder for anything, let alone a big time radio station in Chicago?

This may sound dramatic, but I feel guilty about not trying to do something sooner -- if anything, I've learned that there are a lot of tone deaf/soulless people at that station, and that the "longest running sports radio show in Chicago" certainly doesn't really have as big of an impact on the cultural landscape as Dan has somehow been conned into thinking it does - if it actually were a big deal, how many advocacy groups would have been alerted?

I've thought the same thing about Mike, although somehow his treatment doesn't seems nearly as cruel as Bob's because he seems like he is on the joke at times....

Mike is nearly as bad. I don't think he's in on the joke. But the meanness of mocking him is tempered slightly when he occasionally reaches deep into his pickled brain and navigates throgh the drunkness to fire off a good shot at bernstein.

North has been ripped for his "sombrero" & "Chinamen" comments where he was just mimicking a Don Rickles but these 2 A-Holes get away with this???

The real irony is that Terry doesn't appear to be too far away from being Bob.

I am not certain really what to say anymore on this. I do know one thing though. If Bob was my dad I would go and belt Bernsie so hard in the face he would need medical attention. And I would not care about the proper authorities.
