It should be no matter what. They've both given plenty of reasons to doubt them already.

Agreed. But the Bears will still give them that 3rd year at least, we all know its true. Hell, might even take longer than that.

Emery deserves more than 2 years, and probably more than 3. It takes a few years to judge a draft class, and we're at that point now with his first class. He's also just signed Cutler to a long-term deal and have finally stabilized the coaching staff/talent around him to where there are high expectations. Even if the Bears go 6-10 the next two seasons, he'll probably be allowed a 2nd coach before his job is on the line.

12-20 over the next two seasons and not on the hot seat? No way. This guy didn't take over some loser, directionless franchise with a barren roster. The Bears were one game away from the SB only three years ago, and were 10-6 two years ago. They have proven vets at most skill positions on offense and are most certainly a win-now team as opposed to a development project or just crap, like the Jets or something. No way Emery gets that long without it being a dumb decision by management.

I believe that you all are wrong and are just being negative. The Bears offense hasn't had a problem moving the ball all preseason or scoring. The fact that they made it look so easy against the best defense in the league should be seen as a positive. Especially considering that they were shorthanded and playing in a tough environment. IMO 9 out of 10 times the Bears score at least 14 points.

It's preseason. No game planning. Self-Preservation. :D

Bears will have a better record than the Packers.

Possible. Packers already lost their NT and Swing Tackle/Guard for the year. New starting center is out for next two months so a rookie's job now.

Defense is "deep" with average but summed together not very good. A lot of youth needs to step up.

When you have Aaron Rodgers anything is possible. That's a great chip to have.

Bingo. Rodgers has been concealing the Packers inadequate drafting for the past several years, right about the time John Schneider moved to Seattle.

Has a coach run more of country club training camp than Trestman?

Letting Briggs open a restaurant opening week. So no, I think not.

Why do these guys always go for the eponymous named start from scratch restaurant and not go the Junior Bridgeman route and franchise a McDonalds or something already proven? I give it 2 years max before he's tits up.

Hence, this is why the Bears will be pushed around by Buffalo from the get-go.

I also foresee a lot of pulled groins and hammys...but that will happen in the locker room.

The Bears are going to DESTROY Buffalo. I am sure of it. They will win by at least 2 touchdowns.

I think they'll win, but the score will be closer than you think because special teams will have at least one field goal blocked and give up at least one return for a TD.

The only good things I can say about the ST is thank God for Gould and O'Donnell should be around for a while.

Do you read your own posts?

As you have mentioned, the Bears have a pretty ancient team.

Do you think it would make sense for Trestman to run his guys into the ground when most of them are ready to collect social security?

I agree with both of you.

However, If Orton trotted out to start the game Sunday then all bets would be off.

No, of course not. I was just surprised young blood Ferguson, Sutton, McClellin, Carey didn't play 4th preseason game.

I thought Lovie was a player's coach but Trestman seems to be on another level.

Maybe he realizes that the less contact he has with his team, the better they perform. Genius!

As soon as the general manager realizes this likelihood, the quicker he saves his own job.

I think we can officially say it is on today.

At least in year one you could point to the offensive statistics to overlook his clear in game mistakes but that seems to be gone too.

I wanted him gone from the time he was hired. It was clear that he was the least qualified candidate of the finalists interviewed by Emery, and that Emery's selection of Trestman reflected the GM's desire to have a surrogate for himself coaching the team.

Emery and Trestman need to go.

If he doesn't fire Joe D then I'm done with this guy. And I supported the hire.

Looking back you seemed to pretty much nail it before he was even hired.

Yep. The ST can not continue to be this bad with no accountability. Something must be done.
