Exile on Main Street is pretty much the gold standard for me, but I wanted to avoid being all redundant and shit. It really is perfect.

yes yes yes. Love the Wrens. Wasn't there supposed to be a new album last year or this year? Where's that at?

Supposedly this year, and they really sounded convinced. I guarantee they'll just drop it out of the blue.

Really? Why? I'll give you that Secaucus is a little spotty, but The Meadowlands has to be close to perfect.

Their best work, not sure it is perfect but it was their perfect album

Although I loathe I mean loathe the Jock anthem of Closer, The Downward Spiral is pretty good and I can excuse my bias hate of that stupid ass song. Trust me I like 5 minutes alone so I understand jock songs.

That just reminded me that my girlfriend from college stole my Copper Blue CD. Also Lou Reed, New York. Coincidentally a perfect album too. Now I'm sad.

Meh, there's nothing really wrong with New York, but sometimes it just gets a little flat to me. I used to love Berlin in the throes of depression but I can hardly bear touch it anymore. I'll always have Street Hassle, at least!

If you guys like Copper Blue, you must listen to the follow up EP, Beaster, if you haven't already.

Better album art and JC Auto is the best sugar song. It is kinda a song that would almost fit on Zen Arcade.

Hint Mr Jefferson, I don't know you people that well. I mean SomeGuy said that and Motley Crüe was on the list I could venture a guess

I used to work with a guy named Bob Studola. Big dead fan. Crazy drunk. One night I put in electric ladyland and he came to me during and the gods made love, and said hey man the CD player is broken. Hands down my fav Jimi though.

I love how Ten opens. The album was overshadowed at the time because of you were a nirvana guy you hated PJ. Vedder was the new kid in town replacing a Seattle legend. I think PJ is over loved but man Once hell yeah. Deep? Etc... Solid debut although not a true debut more like Audioslave. The guys were experienced.

I've stated it here but I was in a weezer cover band. Blue was a better arranged album, Pinkerton was their best though IMHO. A band that fit their era but I can't go back and listen to much of them.

BSSM - yeah quite an album. Furscainte is my favorite guitarist. I am not even a big RHCP fan. I considered that album a sell out album at the time. That being said now that I am mature, freaking awesome. Last year a friend of mine wanted me to play guitar in his RHCP cover band. I balked my chops are sloppy, the guy they got omfg is so good.

Pinkerton really isn't that good, nor is Weezer. You can fit the listenable part of the band's whole catalogue on a CD-R with room to spare.

The whole blue album
Pinkerton from "El Scorcho" to the end
"Island in the Sun"
"Hash Pipe"
"Keep Fishin'"
"Pork and Beans"

68:21

I prefer Black or Corduroy over Nirvana most days.

Put me in the "Nirvana was overrated" camp.
In Utero was a bit of a letdown while Versus (or 5 against 1) was well received. At least that's how it was in my corner of the world.

I liked In Utero to be honest. Sliver or Swap Meet are likely my favorite songs of theirs but as an album I like In Utero. Well unplugged was the best. Influential band surely. Talented, meh no, just the right place at the right time. In Seattle alone at the time there were a lot more talented bands from AIC, Mother Love Bone, Soundgarden just to scratch the surface.

Mother Love Bone. The great "What If?" from Seattle.

Throw me in as team Mudhoney of the other Seattle bands. They still are a part of my regular rotation in my office.

I still love that they did a song with sir mix a lot on judgement night. That whole soundtrack was fun. Way better than the movie.
