Thanks.

I thought it was funny. Then again, today was the first time I've heard it.

thats the bit. they say they are doing fantasy calls. its called sitem or benchem and they open the lines. people call in with their guys, and dan and tarey decided whether or not to sit them or bench them. people call in thinking its a serious bit, and its pretty funny

It was pretty good. But this is the first time I've heard it.

I don't get it. How do the callers not know it's a bit?

The question answers itself.

They're not remotely interested in offering any fantasy football advice ... except perhaps to those who don't pay attention to the title of the bit.

Just the title "Sit 'Em or Bench 'Em" gives me the giggles. This premise is like vintage B&B before football became Serious Fucking Business to them.

I have to admit this was the first bit I laughed at in a while.
They got lucky with some dope who fit the role but I'm sure they'll drive it into the ground.

I play FF but would rather hear about Dan's "kid" than someones FF team so I get the bit.
It does seem to be an odd stance since many of their advertisers are FF related.

Also, I get a kick out of the "tickets going fast" line they use on any event they ever have.
Who in the world would want to got to that Sox / Cubs alumni softball game.......I'm guesing not many.

I generally hate fantasy discussion so I kinda like the bit. But the joke is so obvious that I have to suspend my disbelief a bit to accept that these are legit callers who really don't get it.

I suppose you could get caught up in it if you're not being particularly mindful. It took me a beat to get the joke at first.

I agree and I did too, I think most people would. The first time I heard the name I was just annoyed that there would be fantasy talk. The second time I thought Dan misspoke. The third time I got the joke and had a chuckle. Then they repeated the name of the bit 43 more times before even taking a call.

Having Rusty and Tannehill do a big open for it probably ruins the bit, but this is to be expected from a show that's had all the subtlety of a gaping head wound for the last two years.

I think they just hype it too much. The times I've heard it they do the typical "fill up the phone lines" hype and I just have trouble believing that anyone can hear them say the name of the bit that much and not get it.

all fantasy shows would be so drastically improved if the prognosticator simply read his lists instead of taking calls. What a silly thing, hearing about someone ELSE'S fantasy team, as if that helps my team in a completely different league with a completely different point system, number of players, no bench etc.

Deep six all such shows. And have Charch just read his rankings.

This is a good bit if used sparingly. I think I only heard it once last year. It always gives me a chuckle.

yeah radio bits with real fantasy information like this just seem stupid. if you are calling a show about your fantasy team i generally assume you are a dimwit.

there are countless sites which allow you to input the settings of your league and look at week by week rankings of your players and get multiple opinions from "experts". FOR FREE.

Charch does a great job giving you facts and stats to support his recommendations... that information is informative to all fantasy players.
