I "know"a guy who owns a subway. Almost all of the things written here are accurate. All of these issues stem from cooperate policy. Subway is without a doubt the NFL of sandwich shops.(not meant as a positive) If a customer is only willing to spend $5 in a sandwich guess what your going to get? How much is the profit margin on $5 sandwich that has everything on it? Just because there are a ton of stores does not mean that all these locations are making crazy money. Most make enough to keep plodding along. The only real winner is Subway. Eat fresh bitches!

It's just sad to see bigfan eating at Subway. He seems to live the good life most of the time. Maybe Frank and bigfan aren't that much different after all!

Pretty sure we still have the seafood thing at our local Subway stores.

I'm there!

They perform the traditional "U-Groove" breadcut, too?

I havent seen that cut since the mid 90s.

At the one by my house, they purposely hide the spinach so people won't use it all up.

Seriously. All the other condiments are out in the open, but the spinach is over in a corner, with a cover on it.

I wonder what the wholesale cost of spinach is. I remember the owner lady got real cagey when I asked her why the spinach is all sneakily-concealed, too!

$2.84 per llb
And you are required to order it from a specific food supplier.
Nobody ever asks for a little spinach either it's always extra.

Since Chilli clearly owns a Subway, how about hooking us up with some free subs?

A while back I went in and found out that you could not get regular yellow mustard due to some weird reason. They had to offer you packets.

Subway is best at the airport when you pay $11.75 for your normal $5 footlong.

New Subway Promotion To Honor Subtember 11

MILFORD, CT—Citing a wide range of deals customers will “never forget,” fast food chain Subway announced an exciting new promotion this week to honor and commemorate Subtember 11. “With a number of terrific discounts on special sandwiches as well as our classic footlongs, you’ll always remember where you were on Subtember 11,” Subway president Fred DeLuca told reporters, referring to Subway’s special promotion in which, for a limited time only, visitors of the restaurant’s tens of thousands of franchise locations will be able to “fly on in” and pick up two footlong subs of their choice for only $9.11. “From the Structural Steel Melt on Tower 7–Grain bread to the Twin Chowers cold cut combo with Ground Zero–Carb vinaigrette on a Let’s Whole Wheat Roll, we’ve got something for everybody this Subtember 11.” DeLuca added that the special promotion will be “first responders, first served.”

Subway sucks big time. Terrible bread and I think the same surly bastard works at ever subway in Illinois.
I'll take a jimmy johns over subway every time. Hell Rosati has a nice turkey sub that's better.
Everyone has food that's better than subway.
It might be the worst of all chain sub joints.

Now that being said I wish there was a Mr. Submarine around here. Really missed that once I didn't work downtown anymore. Fuckin roast beef and corned beef combo? Fuck yes.

Mr Sub was good. For me though the go to was on 51st and California. A late night corned beef sub from Submarine Port did me right.

that's what would happen to me with quizno's.

shane's deli in downtown wheaton remains to be the best sandwich joint in the burbs i know of. but nothing compares to the hoagies on the east coast.

subway is exactly the kind of place you go to when you have no other option. it's not terrible though.
