No. I work like a fucking dog when I'm on duty. Often I only have 5-10 minutes drive time between jobs. I have to eat something quick while I drive to the next call. No time for the spread like chus has, I get no lunch hour or half hour or whatever to put together a sandwich and I have to stick to things I can eat with one hand. Today I didn't eat my sandwich because between each call some dope was calling me giving me shit for materials use on each call or I had to explain my time (why did it take an hour to confirm a cracked heat exchanger for fucks sake Darko? Because I had to pull the fucking blower and the goddamn Evaporator you grimy bastard!)

Why cant you have stuff on it? I don't think I could eat a meat and bread sandwich.

I could eat sandwiches everyday for lunch and most dinners. I freaking love sandwiches.

I love sandwiches too. But a soggy sandwich does nobody any favors. My sandwich will sit in a cooler in a hot van for 5 or so hours before I can eat it.

Trust me. I've tried to make this work. This is the only real way.

Love that place. All the subs are great.

Get an Italian with garlic spread and peppers. Good stuff.

Nice family, too.

this is true. when i was doing plays a few years ago and had a rehearsal schedule, i made sandwiches that didn't have any condiments because when eating them i was also driving...and it's not a very convenient thing to eat something that can drip or sog out on you. that's why i don't suck any dicks when i drive, either. the more you know...

Helpful Hint: Yesterday for lunch I started off with an assortment of chilled shellfish. I had a bone-in ribeye the day before, so I opted for the chilean sea bass with an heirloom tomato and saffron broth. Something a bit lighter since it was lunch. I don't get a "lunch hour or half hour or whatever" either, but when you're the boss like me, you take your lunch whenever you goddamn feel like. If the crew and I are in the middle of framing up a house and I suddenly decide I want some sushi-grade tuna flown in from Hawaii, you better believe that jet is on the runway before I even hang up the phone.

my wife likes subway, I'm definitely a jimmy johns man. i don't think either place makes wonderful sandwiches, but in the world of fast food subs ill take the one where i am in the store for about 5 minutes or less before i will stand in the lines watching people "customize" at subway. they option you to death, choose the bread choose each individual condiment, toasted/not toasted, enough already. can you please just make the fucking sandwich. and it really sucks when you get behind the family of 4 who each have their own weird concoction of bread and condiments and all that, its agonizing watching them decide on the fly what they want to eat. at least at jimmy johns you can go in, get a #5 or whatever, the sign shows what comes on it and you say "no onions" or whatever and you have your sandwich before you are done paying for it. not gourmet but tasty enough and fast.

Awesome place. Great potato salad too.

Owned and operated by former Friars one of whom was the guitarist
in the Freddy Jones Band.

I'm thinking about getting a turkey & bacon w/ mayo over @ Subway just to make a number of you slightly ill at the mere mention.

Yup. When I am working in downstate, I'll fill up the car, then behold a subway is there. I'll eat it then. No other choice really except the mcdonalds across the street at that gas station.

I grew to tolerate Subway when I was in Missouri and had no other options. It was that or cobbling together a meal from Casey's General Store.
