Watched Altered States and Faces of Death on acid. Good and terrible.
was faces of death the series that just showed people dying?
if so, i remember seeing one of those. my favorite part was what i consider to be one of life's (or in this case death's) perfect moments. it was some sort of traffic survey by a train crossing in champaign/urbana IL the gates were down as the local train was pulled into the station. a pedestrian decided that waiting for the stopped train was a waste of time, so they decided to go under the flashing/dinging train gates and cross the tracks anyways...... only to get absolutely gibbed (to use a term from quake) by the express train that was coming through like a legitimate motherfucker.
if that wasn't enough, you got to see a proper discombobulation where the singular form of the human body was torn apart into a red cloud of separating limbs, and one of them flew directly at the camera, falling short of the camera itself but going low enough to fly into the tripod stand and knock the camera down to the ground lens first, at which point it hit the ground and the tape went dead.
that was sheer and utter perfection.... i mean the way the whole thing went down and the video ended? yikes. i decided to end my faces of death viewership at that point cuz i get ewwww from dead animals, plus i knew i wasn't going to top that video.
to stay on topic (for once) --- honorable mention for "how high?" with redman and methodman. redman actually said on his 2nd album dare iz a darkside "plus i'll straight roll a blunt with a niggaz ashes" and i'll be goddamned if he didn't actually go and do that as a major plot point to a hollywood movie a few years later. well played, redman, well played! and speaking of redman in cinema, seed of chucky was another one of those stoned movies with redman that worked out for me. all he wanted to do was fuck jennifer tilly! =(
