By its conclusion, U2 360° had set records for the highest-grossing concert tour with $736 million in ticket sales, and for the highest-attended tour with over 7.2 million tickets sold.

You're right, Ike.
Nobody wants to see a U2 show these days anymore.....

They are way better indoors for some reason these days.

You are aware that their last arena tour (Vertigo) was almost 10 years ago, right?
And they only played indoors here. Outdoor stadiums everywhere else since 2005....

Was it that long ago? I know i have my ticket stub in the DVD box they shot that night.

I went to the first Soldier Field show on the 360 tour. Maybe it was the set they played, but the crowd was just dead for a lot of the night.

That might have been your experience, but I saw all 3 Soldier Field shows, and had almost identical seats for all 3 shows (Sec 441, 443, and 445),
and we were having the time of our lives. Nosebleed seats are often inhabited by the die-hards.

After the first listen, this is really good. They haven't sounded this to-the-point since War. If I had to say one bad thing about it, it's that "The Miracle of Joey Ramone" comes up a little short in that most rarefied air of U2 album openers. It's still a good song, but MY GOD, look at the competition!

On the second listen now with the good headphones (first listen was on earbuds on a late-night so I could feel untethered from my desk and pay attention). This is really good. Could be the best in a long time.

Second cut feels like "With or Without You." "California," "Song for Someone," and "Iris" are a terrific 1-2-3 punch. "Volcano" is my favorite.

After one doing shit around the house vand watching baseball listen , it sounds good. Like most U2 albums, the classic sound is there. Couple goid pop songs

Bonos voice is great. Noticeable difference from Horizon

I'll have to do a hardcore listen tomorrow

Honestly thought they were playing a clip of With or Without You in those first ten seconds

I've been listening on repeat since about 2 pm.
1. Raised By Wolves
2. Volcano
3. Cedarwood Road
4. Song For Someone
5. The Troubles
6. Sleep Like a Baby
7.Every Breaking Wave
8. This Is Where You Can Reach Me
9. Iris
10. California
11. The Miracle

Order may change after MANY more repeated listenings, but I am really astounded.
ALL KILLER, NO FILLER.
Bono's voice (auto-tune or not) is fucking Huge. He's 54 damn years old.
Easily their best since POP.
I couldn't be happier.
And it was free.
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

This is nice for a change since I'm the guy that likes stuff that everyone else shits on, but I didn't really feel that great about it after the first listen. Couldn't give it a proper second listen but did do bits and pieces again..."Cedarwood Road" and "The Troubles" were my favorites...the opener sounded like it had great potential but something about that chorus seems a bit off.

People sure are pissed that Apple "forced" them to have the U2 album. Hilarious what people can go ape shit about.

Here’s a list of professions that don’t allow for having “The” in your name:
Perma-beanie-wearing guitarists (by the way, you’re bald, dude—it’s cool, just own it) who play in wuss-rock bands. The Edge’s guitar work always sounds like he’s trying to not wake up a baby. And he claims to have been influenced by punk rock? The amps go up seven more notches, Edge. Give it a shot.

Better things to be pissed off about for sure. If not a fan I understand the annoyance but it wasn't like it was automatically downloaded either. It just appears. That is fine IMHO.

It's de rigueur for a lot of people to shit on anything/everything to do with U2 without actually listening to them.
I lend the same amount of creedence to bad reviews as I do the good ones. The only opinion that matters is mine. To me.

Probably a result of getting rid of that sourpuss Brian Eno.

Eno's record with David Byrne from a few years ago was actually pretty optimistic and joyful.
But it is kinda cool to have some other hands on deck, with Danger Mouse and Epworth.
They also gave their engineer full credit on Volcano.

Bite your tongue. Eno has been in the producer's chair for some of the most jubilant music of his time, some of it with U2.

I have it on good authority the Eno wanted to eliminate every hook on the songs he produced for U2. Said they were too "fun".

Thats odd because all his work with U2 is hook heavy and a lot of it is upbeat

This new U2 commercial is already annoying and I've only seen it once.

What does it say about your band that you are basically now just an advertisement for Apple?

No one thinks that

Jay Z did his album with Samsung and nobody said anything like that.

Let's make a list of all the things that Jay-Z did with Samsung, and what U2 has done with Apple. Which one is significantly bigger?

Im not gonna treat this ridiculousness like it's an actual argument. You can think of them however you want.

They're a legendary rock band and most people think of a 1000 things before Apple.
