Good topic.
I'm a sucker for a song about past love/being dumped so:

Dire Straits: Romeo and Juliet "You promised me everything, you promised me thick and thin, yeah. Now you just say, "Oh Romeo, yeah. You know, I used to have a scene with him."" kills me. every time.

Airborne Toxic Event: Sometime Around Midnight, The whole song slowly picks up to the apex;"you just have to see her, you know that she'll break you in two." Kicks me in the balls.

Oh and Radar Love. Makes me happily think of Homer Simpson.

This is an incredible song. In college I was dragged to an Indigo Girls concert and they played it live. Probably the most powerful 5 musical minutes I've ever experienced.

Im in agreement on this one. Theres a fairly recent version of Knopfler doing the song where when he gets to all the " I cant do anything but be in love with you part" his voice cracks and looks like he's actually choking on the emotion of the line. He sure looks like he's reliving the pain of whomever he wrote the song about for sure.

That song got me...well, the title, in college by playing it as a college DJ. Girl I knew called me up at the station and said I had to go over to her place when I was off the air and

It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday. I guess Boyz II Men is the most popular version. At least the best version.

Watching him sing it on Unplugged and you could just feel him getting ready to die. I cant hear it let alone watch that without being covered in goosebumps. That whole Unplugged album is just amazing.

U2 Bad is just a song you get lost in.

I have seen the Indigo Girls a couple of times and they kill that song every time.
