Oh it's gonna take more than 1 million if that fall guy or girl is smart. This is the NFL. They print money. 1 million to be the fall guy for the NFL? Hell no. If I'm that person, I don't take anything less than 20 million. I'm dead serious.

And Goodell and the NFL owners would happily pay it. They would do it in installments. 1 million per year over 20 years. That way this person doesn't get the money and then talk. If they have 1 million per year coming, Goodell buys himself 20 years. By then he's retired anyway.

To be honest, if I worked in the NFL office, I'd be volunteering to be the fall guy for 20 million right now.
