I'm guessing they will spend at least one episode on Eleanor's insatiable appetite for muff since this is the "intimate" history.

This first installment ends with TR becoming President. So far, it doesn't get too bogged down in policy or shenannigans. More focus on the personalities and how they drove the actions that effected the country as a whole.

As for being cousins, they were pretty far off. Still a little too close for comfort for my taste, but people tend to act like they were 2nd cousins or something.

I saw the first part & liked it. T-Roose is my honky. I didn't know that Eleanor was so closely related to him. I'll probably watch the rest on demand.

Also, I think they've already confirmed they wouldn't be "outing" Eleanor in this series. So much for intimacy.

Why the FUCK is Ken Burns' hair like that?

Based on that alone, I'm assuming he drives a windowless van.

He reminds me of Chang from Community.

TR is my favorite president. It's a shame that most people today don't know about him.

Despite the ubiquitous, Nickelback-like dislike of Ken Burns, I have learned much from his works- I saw more than I should have Sunday night during timeouts and commercial breaks.

Got the DVR set. I couldn't find that first episode on Demand but they replay it Saturday evening. I'll start
watching when I have them all. Looking forward to it.

It's so foreign to hear about presidents trying to go serve in war and trying to get their children to serve in war.

You'd never see the chicken hawks of today even consider it.

This show is depressing me, actually. We were never perfect. But God, are we awful now...
