Hopefully, these last couple games are an indication that he's starting to do that. My God, that homer against the Pirates last night got into the bleachers in a hurry.

So far he's Mike Olt.

Actually, so far he is Javier Baez. Doing the same thing Baez does every time upon promotion.

Great experience. Now he will have the entire offseason to make the necessary adjustments.

yeah considering his history I do not care what his batting average is for the time he is up this season.

Cueto's not coming over to his house in the offseason to let Baez get used to his stuff. I don't know what this mythical offseason adjusting will entail? "Hey Javy, hit the ball sometimes...you cant?...well try"

the jury is still out over he WILL adjust. However, to say he CANNOT adjust is premature.

Patience is good but adjusting in MLB is not like what he did in AA and AAA. He might do it, but its not a shoe in or anything

I dont care about the K's if the other numbers are right

His ceiling is a lot higher than that but ceilings are rarely met. If he hits 250 with power and plays a good middle infield, that'll be super

That's a pretty good 2B who has those numbers. The last two are well within his reach. I have no idea about the average.

absolutely. No way to know whether he will adjust or be a bust right now. Anyone trying to project that right now is clueless.

Next year at this time we will have a much better picture of what type of major leaguer Baez will be.

He's a guess hitter that seems to guess wrong 99% of the time.
He takes fastballs down the middle and swings at breaking balls in the dirt. Not a good combo if one wants to be an everyday player. I'm not ready to give up on him yet, though.

He's at 78 now, I just don't see him bring able to get 100. But hey, if one guy can do it it's Javier Baez.

Aren't you forgetting that sample size was your entire crutch as to why you cannot compare 2014 Arrieta to 2012-2013 Sale? Are you okay with so severely judging Baez on less than two months of a baseball season? Seems a bit hypocritical to me...

The dude barely bats .170 and K's over 40% of the time.... he's drowning.

As for your ridiculous Arrieta > Sale argument I'm done with it. You're at the point now where you'll cherry pick Chris Sale's career stats while forgetting that the bulk of Arrieta's career has been as a AAAA pitcher. You're so full of shit and have twisted every non sensual idea of your lead poisoned skull to try and call me hypocritical is ridiculous.

And yet here we are with all Cubs and Sox fans hand in hand thinking you're the worst baseball poster on the board. You can't even reiterate my stance or argument accurately in a single sentence.

If you look over his last 9 games, he's 8 for 34. That's still not where you want him to be, but it's an improvement. What is happening, is what happened with him at every stop in the minor leagues.....he's making adjustments and improving. With the unusual ability to hit the ball out of the park, if he can just hit .250, he can be a true asset.

Micah Johnson won't be able to really hit, but when he transitions to the OF he'll be a good defender there and has fantastic pinch running skills. I wouldn't do it, throw in Danks and have the Cubs eat his salary and sure.
