I would like to point out that I think there is a very clear, valid argument to be made that Sale is better and the gap between Sale and Felix is much slimmer than the gap between Felix and Kershaw.

Kershaw is clearly #1 and arguing who comes after him is an utter waste of time.
All you people who talk about Sale's certain future arm problems or Arietta's undoubted future injuries are total morons who should be held accountable for your dumb opinions.
By the way, Sale for Arrietta, Addison Russell and Jorge Soler will never happen because I think that Soler is the least likely to be traded of all the Cub youngsters. He'll be a perennial all star starting in the next year or two.
Last thing - I am a total Cub fan but I think Sale is tremendous and I enjoy watching him pitch. I wish he was on the right team.

fWAR for pitchers is pretty stupid. I say that as a Sox fan, who's team has two pitchers in the top 10. It's basically FIP.

Edit- I like FIP, but if I want FIP I'll go look at FIP. Don't dress up one stat as another.

Sale is a top 5 pitcher but he looks like will snap his arm any minute now. Arrieta is a #2 pitcher on a World Series team.

Trolling aside, Sale > Arrieta, but I'm not going to say its Sale>>>>>>>>Arrieta. In the spectrum of pitchers, Arrieta is much closer to being a Sale caliber pitcher, than he is to being a good number 3. I don't expect another historically great season from Arrieta, but I do see him as a legitimate number 1 going into next year.

To put Arrieta's current FIP score in perspective, its the 4th lowest FIP score in the the last 10 years. Sale's current year, is 10th on this list.

Chris Sale is better than Arietta. Don summed it up best. This isn't really debatable. It appears IMUs trolling got everyone all riled up though, which is nice.
