That was not too long after anybody from Polk who could sell had moved on to Wards. Then they all moved on to Sears. God help whatever company the ones that are left move to next.

Nothing says quality meat like a place that sells jeans, pillows, cleansers and fine meats under the same label.

I will choose to trust those in the meat industry over your usual smart ass posting. But thanks.

Their meat is good, not great. Their chocolate chip cookies, though? Oh, those are terrible. They're all crumbly and sugary.

Speaking of which, is there a good butchers here in the McHenry/Western Lake county area? I usually get my happy ass to the Jewels in Fox Lake which seems to be the best butchers I can find.

Yup. Its Grey Goose for $20.99 for a 1.75L bottle.

As a guy who spent a lot of time at Kiddieland as a kid it saddened my greatly to see it torn down.

I really dislike most food from costco. Their sweets are terrible, the bread is like a rock, steaks taste funny, shrimp from Korea, admitting using dyes in salmon food to get the coloring.

When I see a guy dressed in a yellow raincoat like he is a real fisherman, walk down the freezer aisle, grab a bag of frozen shrimp and some crab legs, then walk back to his stand alone blue painted cart with the plexiglass and the ice. He opens the bags, pours out the shrimp and crab legs....and yells "FRESH SHRIMP!"...and i see people walk up, ask for a pound. He scoops them up, adds some ice into a bag, charges 20% more and hands you the "FRESH SHRIMP"..........................

Kirkland Brand! fine quality Chicken Breasts, Underwear and sofas!

I have been told that Costco does buy meat from Mexico, then has it inspected in the US, to the USDA sticker. Pretty sure that "inspection" is visual and doesnt speak to the quality of the product.

Good call on the rock-like bread. They make you buy two bags of six bagels at a time, and you have like a 48-hour window AT BEST to eat twelve bagels before they turn to stone. Can't do it, and I love onion/everything bagels.

If you have a the big family and kids, I understand why you would go there. Plates, cups, paper towels and then a slew of frozen products. Then pack it all in the super mini van!

The Kilters would be shocked!

One plant or location closing does not make a corporation extinct. Or I'll add Pizza Hut to the list since the EGV one closed down.
