Infer that Jake Arietta is a better pitcher than Chris Sale.

backpedaling pretty quickly, not surprisingly...

I often worry about leaving bruises when I do that.

I'm sure he was talking about emotional bruising.

She has a pretty mean jab, but I still think Reggie could take her.

Hub and Pompeii are "Due Process" guys. Quite disturbing.

Hub's main concern is that there is a chance that if Peterson gets a not guilty verdict, then he can go back and sue the NFL for suspending him for the year while the trial was underway. The problem is that the NFL does not have to set the bar at the same level as the US Legal system. In fact, they don't -- in the CBA, there's language specifying that players will be expected to behave even better than that at which the average citizen is required.

There's actionable evidence that indicates Peterson has performed these acts, including his own confession. The NFL is free to proceed how they would like at this point -- there is no requirement for due process. As long as there is some fact checking done, the NFL should be in the clear with the CBA backing it up. It is a different matter altogether if say there was a DUI arrest for Brandon Marshall, and so you immediately suspend him from Monday's game and withhold a pay check, but then find out later that it was some white guy from Topeka named Brandon Marshall. That's not the the case here.

Everyone knows you don't hit 1 year olds.
You're supposed to leave them in the car with the windows rolled up until they stop crying.
It's the self soothing Ferber/NFL method.

People started doing this after the first case this summer.

Are they arguing for "Due Process" in terms of allowing these guys to play while waiting for the legal/law to be decided?

Would you agree with them, if that's the case?

No, I don't have any sympathy for these guys. They dug their own graves.

At the same time, I don't like the Bernstein approach of firing everyone, etc. without knowing all of the facts.

Agreed on both counts

His 1 year old sometimes takes a swing at him. Gee, wonder where she learned that behavior?

One year olds are vicious animals though. I think it is ingrained behavior. We dont hit and the twins dont watch anything but Disney Jr or Nick Jr. But if one of them takes the others toy, it is like a heavyweight bout. We sometimes have to pry them off each other. Slapping, scratching, biting, hair pulling, kicking, screaming... They are like the Tasmanian Devil from Looney Tunes.

Why do the Lions want to stick up for AP so bad?

Quote:
"It's unfortunate for him," Johnson said. "Such a good guy, just from being around him. To see something like this happen, interrupt his season, you're used to seeing the guy put up big numbers -- this was probably going to be another big season for him -- so you hate to see something like that happen to him."

Johnson then was asked about growing up in a disciplined home, and said he would discipline his children as well -- though he didn't elaborate on whether that meant physical discipline.

"The (Peterson) situation is very unfortunate," he said. "Then you have pictures come out, and it's even worse. I'm going to discipline my kids, and can't no one tell me how to discipline my kids.

"Like I say, that's not my situation right now. My situation would be private. It's not a public matter when you discipline your family. But unfortunately for him, it has become that. Like I say, I don't think there's anything wrong with disciplining your child. It teaches them discipline at the same time, and we all need that."

People can in fact tell you how to discipline your kids, it's called abuse. You would hope Calvin Johnson wasn't an asshole, but oh well. Guess that's just Detroit being Detroit.
