Yeah but everyone knew that he sucked. It was no mystery that he was bad his whole history except for a small patch of games here did he ever look good. He lucked out too in the fact that no one game planned for him. Towards they end they started too and he started looking worse. I am no pro Cutler guy but McGowan well everyone knew this was going to happen. He just took the payday. Can't blame him.

I'm happy that he made his money. He could have either made his 5 million over a couple of years as a backup or in a single year as a semi starter so the choice was easy.

The fun will be when he gets cut by the Bucs in the offseason and comes back to Chicago.

only dopes and mike north thought that mccown was the right idea in light of the unrealistic repeatability of no offensive injuries last year.

happy for the school teacher too but he's not long for the nfl.

While I didn't care that they didn't re-sign him, this is the polar opposite of the truth. He started 5 games. His lowest rating was his first game. It then went up in each successive game with his 5th game easily being his best (4TDs, O Ints, 141.9 rating).

I think the lesson learned here is that you can plug just about anybody in to this Trestman offense with Marshall and Jeffrey and Bennett and Forte and expect pretty good results.

At the end of the day, McCown still performed better than Cutler when put into the same situation.

Getting rid of McCown was the right move. The Very Smart Management People did not like that the fans were so happy about how well he was playing.

If you want a good laugh, go to the Bucs fan sites.

They hate McGowan, but their hate of Lovie is strong. Literally looks like the Bears message boards circa meatball billboard era.

Lovie is 3 games into his tenure there and is in a world of shit. That team is an embarrassment to the NFL. I wasn't sure coming in - worst team - Jax, Raiders, Giants, etc. That thing is the biggest steaming turd pile I've ever seen.

And depending on McGowan's injury status, Lovie has a controversy on his hands. I'm sure folks are calling for Mike Glennon and his freaky weird giraffe neck to be the starter.

Yeah. It will be gloating about MCGOWEN being bad. But there's a lot more important things for today's show. They'll continue to bash Marshall. They'll bash the local and national media for not joining them in bashing Marshall. Also, Roger Goodell speaks today at 2pm. They'll probably carry it and make fun of all of the wrong and stupid things that Goodell says.

Lots of stuff for them today. There plate is full.
