That's where ESPN ranked the Cubs among all major North American sports teams in terms of product quality.

Despite The Plan, they still rank the Cubs 112 out of 122 for likeliness to win a title. ESPN's own ADVANCED METRICS~! say the Cleveland Browns are on a better championship trajectory than the Cubs are.

Ownership, fan relations, and affordability are all in the 100s, which means you pay a lot to be treated like shit by assholes. It's the party of the century!

In the aggregate, the only teams doing a worse job of doing right by their customers are the Mets, the Raiders, the Bucks, the Knicks, and the Maple Leafs: three bloated big-city teams coasting on loyalty, a small-market NBA team with clueless management, and...the Raiders, whatever the Raiders are.

John McDonough's new team is #10.

Ricketts is a -10 WAR owner. Theo is an idiot barely kept in check by Hoyer (Theo wanted to draft Mark Appell, lol). Renteria is a stooge, which isn't bad but as a stooge for Theo and Ricketts he is super fucked.

The Cubs are being milked right now. They are being converted into a big money corporate billboard under the guise of a bevy of prospects. This ranking will continue to worsen as long as Ricketts is the owner and Theo has final say over the roster.

The Cubs' highest ranking, 88 out of 122, came from Wrigley Field, the same Wrigley Field that Ricketts (101 out of 122, yeah, suck it, guy who inherited the Tennessee Titans) is intent on ruining.

It's honestly kind of sad, when are they going to finally destroy Wrigley? Will it be the same next season? I'd like to at least go one last time.

It all sets up nicely for a Mark Cuban / other billionaire owner looking to own a team not for revenue/profit but for the glory to come in and buy the team and rip out the Rickets "improvements" and "restore" Wrigley.

Look at how much heart the Cubs organization displayed this afternoon. Sweet success is imminent.

Theo doesn't have his HUGE budget and 2 Hof ROID'ED UP sluggers in the middle of the lineup.

Some boy wonder he is.

I tend to not use the word retarded but I believe the Ligue that put stock in these rankings are retarded.

1. Next time Anna writes an article, I hope to see what she thinks of the new running style in the next 26.2 race, otherwise, no thank you.

2. If the Ricketts plan was a Money grab, they should just sell right now. Probably could make $400+ mill profit and do nothing. So if this was a money grab, like some of the smart people here are saying, why would they drop another $400 mill into the team/park? I will sit back and wait for some of the finer business minds here to explain things to me.

A money grab suggests a level of competence and foresight I'm not ready to attribute to the Ricketts kids.

there are still a few entitlements out there which would increase market value. This makes sense in light of how they, as reported by several outlets, are dragging their feet on the big ticket improvements.

They will make that $400 million back and then some. It also allowed them to have an artificially low payroll and blame "debt" and the need for improvements even though the improvements are going to provide them with multiple huge revenue streams while they return to a payroll that will probably be similar while selling Cubs fans on one big free agent signing to say "See, we are now investing in the team" while they will still lag behind the true big spenders in the league.

We'll find out if the improvements are a "money grab" or not when we see the Cubs have a top 5 payroll in baseball based on these improvements.

I just picture Ricketts dad being like Robert the Bruce's dad in that movie I shall not name because it has proven to falsely reflect the Scottish desire for political freedom. Tom will think he is bringing harmony and a championship to Wrigley and one day, Joe will tell him that he has been working to sell the team for max profits for several years.
