How the Bears can win:

It starts with the offensive line. They need to get back to last years form immediately, and get a good push. Adrian Peterson killed the Packers in limited carries last year. Unless something crazy happens like Packers up 28-0 in the first quarter, they need to get benson 25 carries. Im unsure about the Packers run defense still, and if Griese throws the ball 52 times they might as well not show up

Ron Turner needs to pull his head out of his ass. The Packers are one of the only teams that play bump and run almost every single play, and if the Bears wont attempt to stretch the field they will get killed. The CB's on GB are tough and physical, but they are prone to illegal contact penalties and the deep ball. Berrian can easily get past them and deep into the secondary, but if they dont call enough plays for that then it will be a long day.

Gates got open all day long against the Packers, and this goes along with the Ron Turner thing, but we need to see more Olsen and Desmond Clark. Deep post routes by either TE would be highly effective against the mistake prone Packers Safeties. Playaction passes would also be very effective if they can establish the run, as GB seems prone to giving up the PA passes.

The Defense needs to continue what they have been doing in the first half, and if the offense stays on the field then it should give them more energy to continue the dominance in the second half. Tommie Harris needs to play because that interior offensive line is still suspect and he could have a field day.

It basically all sums up to establishing the run, limit Griese to 20-25 pass attempts, get Olsen and Clark involved, and stay on the field.

How Green Bay can win:

The offensive line needs to continue to give Favre time to throw, and if they do that he will have a great day against an injured secondary. They need to establish the run finally, although I dont see it happening this game. If they eventually dont start running the ball even at a mediocre level they have no chance of advancing far in the playoffs if they get there. The main key is to look for Driver early and often, and to get Ruvell Martin and Greg Jenning to test the backup CB's and Safeties deep. Since Babich blitzes so much, they also need to take advantage of that with all the screen pass west coast stuff they like to do, which I fully expect them to execute well.

The Defense needs to stop the run better than they did last week, which should be a bit easier considering the competition. If they can take Benson out of the game and limit him to around 15 carries, then Griese will need to win the game like last week, and he wont if he throws the ball 40+ times, let alone 52. They need to play phsyical with the Bears skill position guys and make Benson mentally scared, which shouldnt be too tough. If Kampman, Corey Williams, KGB, and the rest of the line can continue their stellar pass rushing, which I expect they will because of the turnstiles at OT for the Bears, then Griese will not have the mobility or pocket presence to beat it.

Last but certainly not least, they need to stop Hester. Kick it out of bounds every single time, Im not kidding. Mason Crosby has a very strong leg, and he has shown hes more than capable of kicking Touchbacks often, so if he doesnt feel like he can continue doing that, just kick it out of bounds. The GB kickoff coverage has been less than average so far, and Peterson nearly ran one back last week, and if Special Teams for the Bears doesnt score, I dont see them winning this game.

Prediction: Packers 27-10

The Bears can win by figuring out how to stop that potent Packer running game.

Unfortunately, they cannot. I agree with your analysis of the game, and have bet accordingly.

Maybe the teams are right, but the only way the Packers beat the Patriots this year is if Drew Bledsoe was still their quarterback.

Favre throws 3-38, 24 yds., 8 Int., 6 sacks.

Then I grow wings and fly.

Packers 31-17.

Bears lose 27 - ?. GB receivers are better than our 2nd string secondary and the Bears offense continues to suck ass. I haven't seen the injury report yet.

It's comforting to think that Brett is still feeling those hits.
