Keyser, you are a sick bastard. Do you wear a hairshirt when watching the Sox?

Marcus Semien may be turning a corner. .283/.333/.436/.769 in September with a 16% K rate. That was before his little exhibition today, all of those numbers improved.

Of course this is in like 50 Sept PA, because he's splitting time with other guys, but this is exactly the type of offensive player I envisioned him as (with room for growth in the BB department). Defense needs work, but he's also playing different positions which is really tough at his stage in development. He's a ballplayer though.

Oh I'm sorry he's not living up to the greatness of Uber Prospect Future HOFers Alcantara and Baez. I go to bed every night asking myself "Why can't Marcus Semien just bat .170? Then I'll know he's truly great."

Is Bassit a legit prospect or is this just a September anomaly?

The first step to falling in love with prospects is learning how to properly spell their names.

edit: He also has an Edwin Jackson type WHIP. Be prepared for that ERA to jump.

September anomaly. He's a 6th or 7th starter.

Bassit had fairly impressive minor league stats then had sugery in 2013. Just rounding into form now. Better pedigree than Noesi or others on that roster.

Yea but Tigers > Reds, so he's clearly better than Arrieta. Sorry dude, Sox just found the most dominant starter in the AL off the scrap heap. If we don't win the next 9 World Series it'll be a colossal disappointment.

I don't care how Jose Abreu finishes the season, he's shown us who he is.

As for Semien, I'll take the game tying RBI against a team clinging to the division. High pressure situation vs Price and he comes through? Kids got it.

In his last few starts Sale has been using a lot of pitches to get thru the early innings and he's doing it again today. His stuff is there but for some reason he gets into deep counts and can't put hitters away earlier. Even though the defense sucks I'd like to see him pitch to contact and be a little more efficient.
