Not really, and that's why the trolling is funny.

As if they should not have a plan/strategy.

If the Cubs are competing for a playoff spot next year, will you enjoy it? Or are you done being a Cubs fan?

Of course, that is not what happened, not the next year or the next after that or the next or the next or this dismal season about to mercifully end. Instead the Cubs have lost baseball games at a pace remarkable even for a team notorious for the longevity of its futility. (NY Times article)

Yeah....don't get your shit twisted, son.

A fan-boy owner's public assessment of his team's chances is not exactly related to the brass' strategy or implementation.

5 years of pure crap = one playoff appearance?? They were every 3 years average making the postseason under Hendry,I think.

From the same guy that said that he would be disappointed with only one World Series victory if they weren't highly competitive after it.

Isnt missionaccomplished a joke/shot at George Bush's extremely pre mature Declaration about the Iraq war?

That would be pretty illogical given the rest of his post.

Im thinking Theo was in Jimmy's doghouse with the Will Smith family and Kevin James dissenters

I like Will Smith. His family is mucho obnoxious.

Theo officially entered my doghouse when in his first year,he decided it was OK to immediately suck even though MLB added an extra WC team to the playoff picture that year. The beginning of season 3 was especially sickening as he did next to nothing to improve this team's offense. He WANTS TO LOSE!
That doesn't fly in my world. WTF are we watching, the WWE?

I think the strategy is working out great... People like to get mad and/or debate silly things. Like sports.

I just checked and today is not a good day so far for the #core.

0-8 with 6 K and 1 BB from Soler, Alcantara and Baez. 5 IP 3 ER for Cy Hendricks. Ow. Those guys are bad.

And if the Cubs can beat playoff teams even with a 1-14 core night...imagine how much the Cubs will win when they improve and get augmented with additional talent through free agency.

Its been over a decade since the Cubs last beat a playoff team while in the playoffs themselves. #slowyourroll

Not sure when the lines for MLB 2015 win totals come out, but one site said they expect the Cubs total to be set at 73.5. Don't know if fans can live with another year of this.

Many Cub fans (not me) expect them to sign either Lester or Scherezer.

That would bump them to the low 80's i would think

Also, and I know its nothing to brag about, but they've been hovering around .500 since June with the current roster

Id think they'd be just as good as that

The past leads to the present. The Cubs can only work the present to lead to the future.

But the fact that the Cubs have not won anything in the last 10 years has no correlation to how or why the Cubs can't win anything over the next 10.
