Don't turn right from the left hand lane?

At least Rick wasn't one of those jagoffs that insist on backing into a space in a crowded parking lot.

If you are in that much of a hurry, why don't people ever leave earlier to avoid this situation the vast majority of the time?

It sounds like you did it properly, especially if you weren't in oncoming 'parking lot traffic.' And with the signal... without that though, he could have assumed you were going to park in an open spot on the left hand side (if there were one even open.)

People in vehicles are dumb; I know that - I just wanted more information on the story. And a chance to give you some shit.
It was actually a townhouse community with spots only to the right.

I can only guess he thought I was just going to be stopping in the road on the left side, but that would mean I not only parallel parked illegally, but I would be facing on the wrong side of the road.

Drivers here are horrible. It makes me miss Illinois drivers.

I leave the house at 530am

How many minutes should I allow for slow pokes who are going to make my commute longer?

Bring your coffee from home, that way you don't have to stop. I can't help you with people that walk drunk early in the morning.

If you walk at the right pace downtown (about 4mph) you always catch greens.

I found that the people downtown walk to the exact beat of Primus' My Name is Mud. If you don't believe it, play it in your headphones as you walk.

Th problem with walking people is they do not comprehend the right/left and opposing/oncoming dynamic.

That is the absolute worst. Also, these are ultimately the people who walk the slowest.

So if it is raining you are not allowed to carry a umbrella?

Umbrellas are fine.

But when you are walking on a busy street downtown with hundreds of people around you on a very small sidewalk, the guy holding the massive umbrella that could cover at least 3 people tends to cause problems.

Carry a normal umbrella ya dickwads...
