I'm fascinated by the Sox fan preoccupation with the Cubs.

How do you find time to pay attention to your own team?

Cant erase the last three years

Any plan that takes 5 years is too long in modern sports

I understand you might disagree. Agree to disagree. But that's why im not on board.

Why do you want to erase the last three years? It is in the past. The heavy lifting is over. I don't think you're emotionally scarred by it, so I'm comfortable saying "who cares?" and "move on."

But we can agree to disagree. Don't come to the parade.!

This is the great lie.

The heavy lifting wasn't necessary for future success and you should resent 3+ years being stolen from your life.

Ill be happy if/when they win.

I wont call it a master stroke of genius or the culmination of a great plan though

How is 3 years worse than the previous 35?

This is the only thing Theo has won since he came to the Cubs.

So, disqualifying the mults

We have a tie with 6 votes in

Im confident I have 8 or 9 regular posters left who will say no (Mr Reason, JawBreak, Badrogue etc)

I wonder how many YES votes are left now that denis and IMU have voted.

Yes.

My understanding is contention to some degree during 2015, beginning of successive runs starting in 2016.

It is also interesting that so many people fought back hard against the "the plan isn't working" posts and yet so many Cubs fans agree.

America should have a much easier path now since so many agree with him.

If you really believed this then losing for any length of time would be acceptable to you.

Well, the Cubs have not won the WS in so long, it would seem we are resigned to it.

These results point to a great victory in reasoning by people like good dolphin, JORR, and America.

They've been saying this for years.

I'll think about it. I'm moving this weekend so my sports team fandom is for sale.

You are confusing things

I havent said anything is "not working"

Ive said its taken too long.

America thinks the Cubs prospects suck. I strongly disagree.

You're all over the place. You don't think the Cubs are in any better of a position to win a title than any team in any sport. You think there is only a 30% chance that happens in your lifetime.

No Im quite clear on what I mean. The failure in communication is on your side.

5 years is too long to wait to TRY and win
The prospects are decent and a couple are REAL good
They might win a title they might not. Im confident that they'll be a lot better over the next three years than the last three

These are fairly simple concepts

It seems you want one of two answers

The Cubs will FOR SURE win a World Series and this plan has been perfect

or

Theo is an evil liar and the Cubs will never win anything

sorry im in the middle

Flawed poll.

I am not voting.

I am supportive of Theo and willing to give him time to carry out his plan.

But that does not mean I believe in it, i.e. believe completely it will work and be successful

I know I shouldn't even mention them, but earlier you made a case that as of right now the White Sox and Cubs have the same exact chance of winning a future World Series in your lifetime.

This is just amazing to me. The Cubs built a whole plan around extended losing and they couldn't even jump over a team who is pretty much floundering and finally is showing a tiny bit of life?

My statement about a 30% chance is pretty much my default position on all teams.

If I really thought about it, it might be slightly different

My point was I am in no way sure of a title in my lifetime

I am just glad we could get this discussion to another part of the board, the other 9 just weren't quite enough.
