This one should be a gimme.....

2014 Cubs bullpen > 2014 White Sox bullpen.

I will sit back and wait for the dissenters.

The numbers support this by a wide margin.

But you're grabbing at low hanging fruit. Do better.

I can agree that both are correct, but in neither case is it by much of a difference and when I watch Arrieta pitch the entire year (150 IP), it just seems effortless, I am surprised to 95 MPH when he throws. When you watch Sale pitch it is extreme vioelnce on his body and I just wont be surprised the day something pops in his arm right after a pitch and he is done pitching.

I am fine with where Rizzo and Arrieta fit into this cubs team and PLAN right now.

Oh, that Soler guy.......> Sox System

I think it's funny that you assume Chris Sale will get hurt (with no injury history) but that Soler, who gets hurt all the time, is a deity. Whatever. You still can't say it, no matter how obvious it is.

Chris Sale is much better than Jake Arrieta. Obvious to everyone who pays attention to the game, Cubs fans? Nuh huh. It's always non committal.

Rizzo has had himself a pretty damn good season, but compared to him, Jose Abreu has an avg 34 points higher, has 31 more RBI, 14 fewer strikeouts, 4 more HRs, 27 more hits, 9 more doubles, in a difference of only 30 at bats.

Whether you care to admit Steve Stone was correct or not, that is a big difference.

Arrieta pitches across his body which puts tremendous stress on the shoulder. He's missed time with shoulder soreness in the past. Maybe your pitching guru buddies did one of their ridiculous mis-teach videos about it.

We'll see about both Soler and Ramirez next year when the team takes the diapers off of them.

Myself as well.

Not 'much' better. Just better.

This is setting up just like the LaHair is better than Konerko stuff.

The numbers may look similar for a certain time period but ultimately the difference between the two will become obvious.

Sale takes a month off for Soreness, if you dont want to call that being hurt, good for you.

I will risk that Soler doesnt break his leg every year.

Because it happened one way in a vaguely related circumstance therefore it's likely to happen the same here? Terrific point; 'America' could provide a better argument.

I figured the implication that you were trending below 'America' would be clear enough even for the dimmer amongst us to decipher.

Got it.

So you are saying over the next 1-3 years, assuming both stay healthy, that Arrieta and Sale will perform at almost the same level?

If you can quote me saying precisely that, there's a shiny new nickel in it for you.

I just want you to say I'm wrong.

Next time you want to mock someone for making a point you should be willing to say you disagree with it.

I guess "I think your point is stupid but I won't say it is wrong" is your choice though!

Correct. During Arrieta's third Cy Young season.

I dont think its like LaHair. Arrieta will be a good starter. Maybe not great like he's been this year.

but it wasn't just a broken leg and it wasn't just one season

When you are giving a guy under 25 years old a day off every second day, there is cause for concern in the future.

I don't mean he will be off the team soon but to me the difference between Sale and Arrieta is much wider than it seems based on just looking at this set of numbers. Arrieta will still be good. He may even be a #1 level starter.

I may be wrong though. I just wish someone would actually say it instead of fly by insults without making their own point!

Here you go Rick, from a Cub fan, for the record.

Sale is better than Arrieta.
Abreu is better than Rizzo.

All four of them have had good seasons this year.
The only question about whether Sale and Abreu continue to be better is health.

Thank you.

I'm all for someone disagreeing with me though. Rizzo and Arrieta may end up being as good or better than their White Sox counterparts. I just don't need the indications that I'm stupid or making a terrible point without someone being willing to say I am wrong.
