I completely get being frustrated with the plan and not agreeing with it. But to say that it fails if in the future they win some titles is just stupid.

If they win just one it is a HUGE success.

Yeah, but in my world Theo Epstein would be on a hot seat, yet in the the real world he still has all of his golden boy luster. Would you at least agree that there is something with the majority of the Cub fan base that I'll call "The Epstein Paradox" wherein they love Theo and his plan in spite of the fact that a core component of that plan was to be awful for three or four seasons which they hate?

I dont doubt that Theo could win a World Series or build a perennial contender with the Cubs. I wouldnt doubt any GM with a successful past. But sucking for at least 3 years is unnecessary.
