LaRussa interested in bringing him to Arizona.

I'm guessing that's where he goes. I can't see Theo firing Ricky. Francona will probably be the next Cubs manager.

After next season. They'll be ready to win at that point.

I don't see how anyone could be negative on Renteria at the moment.

Gardenhire would be a good...hire...for a team that needs a manager though.

He's one of those guys who likes to manage. Scioscia is another one. Just sit your dumbass on the fucking bench and let Trout and Pujols pound the ball off the wall. Theo has the right idea. Hire a dupe and put him under extreme control. Renteria doesn't chew a sunflower seed until Hoyer gives him the okay. That's how you do it. None of these ex-players going with their gut on "clutch".

Unless he starts throwing at the fishes heads, and talking about GRIT I don't think Gardy is a good match for TLR's Snakeoil operation

Gardenhire would be a much better manager than Robin.

Ozzie with the Twins would be awesome

They would both win with good players and lose with bad ones. Gardenhire is not a modern manager. He is an old hidebound guy who loves to bunt and issue intentional walks. The difference between him and Ventura is that Gardenhire does those things because he believes they are the right things to do. Ventura does them, well, because that's just the way it's done.

Im stereotyping a bit here, but I feel like people in Minnesota would be less forgiving of Ozzie's shenanigans (Oney)

The Guillen show will play anywhere as long as you're winning. But it only plays in Chicago when you're losing and then, not forever. He won a World Series here. He had the longest leash in the world and he still wore out his welcome.

Anyway, he's a guy you can use to come in and shake up a moribund team, but he definitely has a shelf life. I would compare him to Billy Martin. He's good for the turn around, less so for the long run. And he's another guy with a lot of antiquated ideas about how to approach the game.

Ozzie has managed for the last time in MLB.

ozzie was awesome. i don't care what anyone says about some dictators in cuba, i'll never forget that time he went out there and started an argument for no reason to screw up jays closer b.j. ryan, who had struck out 2 hitters in 6 pitches and was ahead 0-2 to whoever.

after a minute or two of ozzie's pointless arguing/grandstanding, ryan couldn't hit the strike zone and walked the third hitter, who would eventually go around to score in an eventual 2-1 come-from-behind WHITE SOX WINNER(TM)

still, if he can resist the urge to keep it real about his thoughts on foreign dictators i think he'll end up being a nice top pundit @ ESPN/MLBN/playoffcoverage/whatever. he's got it made in that regard, just as long as he remembers those chappelle's show skits about the times that "keeping it real" went horribly wrong.

Do you know what I'll never forget about Ozzie. Him walking out on the team with 2 games left in the season.

you know what i'll always remember about ozzie? that time he signaled for the fat man when he wanted bobby jenks to come into the game.

sammy sosa walked out on the cubs too. alonzo spellman walked out on life once too. shit happens. alls i'm saying is that ozzie could manage my team any time he wants because if you give him dusty's horses he sure as hell knows how to ride them. see 2005.

Listened to Mully and Hanley about 6 am and they had a guy on that claimed after 4 years in a row of 90
losses the Twins cut bait. Leading candidate to replace him according to their guest is Paul Molitor who is
a hometown guy.

See, if the Twins were Really Smart, they'd make up some crap about how he has no managing credentials and then hire some bobo from Boston.

He was on the Twins staff this past season, but you are right I don't believe he has managed at any level.
