In the words of Hawk Harrelson, "THAT'S TROUBLE"

I'm one of the bigger Wilco acolytes on this board. I have indefatigably defended them from the hurtful epithet of "dad rock." I can do so no longer. It's Jeff Tweedy and his son playing songs for Mom. If that's not, nothing is. I'm not really into the Chicago live music scene enough to care all that much about Sue Tweedy and her importance to it, but I guess she has cancer, and that's sad, but -- and now I'm really out of character -- there's nothing less rock-and-roll than "Mom sure is swell." I mean, Sky Blue Sky, where the dad-rock accusations started, was soft and pretty and pissed people off for not having Jay Bennett shenanigans all over it, but at least there was a real sense of musicality coming from a band firing on all cylinders. This is just nice. Nice music for nice people. Preferably those who live on Chicago's north side. Preferably the Tweedy family.

This video is supremely annoying. Father and son both look punchable.

It's a double album where everything sounds more or less the same, that being stripped-down and languid and meandering. It should be called Being Nowhere.

Damn, Tweedy is fat!

Kind of funny all those people slamming the door in their faces, especially Albini and Mavis.

"Summer Noon" runs out of lyrics halfway through so he just goes back to the beginning and does them all again! Come on, man!
