Lines from thegreek.com:

Wisconsin +2.5 over Illinois
I hate to do it (again), but a top five team shouldn't be getting points against Illinois yet. Plus I'll be at the game and I've been a jinx lately.

Stanford +40.5 against USC
Just because I always wanted to take a team getting 40.5 points.

Syracuse +27 against West Virginia
Notice the trend here. I'm sick of giving so I'm taking the points in college this week.

New Orleans -3 over Carolina
Once again a Saints line that seems too good to be true. Carr is awful and the Saints are at home (plus the Saints let Bush go wild).

Baltimore -3 over San Francisco
Although the Ravens have to travel cross-country, the Smith-less 49ers won't have much against Baltimore's D.

New York teams over 40.5
Giants defense last week was a mirage.

I usually don't lay this much chalk, but WV gets back on track this week. I still don't think Syracuse is very good.

Utah is brutal on the road. The Cards should spank them by at least 21.

Five picks for my week. Lines from The Greek this afternoon:

Carolina +3 over the Saints. I predict they miss the Deuce coupe more than anyone can imagine.

Chiefs + 2 over the Jags. KC always tough at home. Johnson should be ready to run and Jags RB is the oft-injured Fred Taylor. How old is he? He was the first pick in the first year fantasy football was around. He's also due for his annual major injury. I say it happens here.

Lions +3 1/2 over the Skins. I think the Det receivers are finding their sea legs after the toss-fests against the Iggles and Bears. Jason Campbell is average at best.

Cowboys -10 over the Bills. Pity the Beefalos. A player was almost paralyzed on opening day and it has been downhill ever since. They are missing more defensive players than the Bears. And their defense wasn't nearly as good as the Bears. This will be a prime-time Tony Romo strokefest.

Peckers -3 over the Bears. Board posters keep saying they hate to call this one, but facts is facts. The Bears secondary is going to get shredded like my favorite pulled pork sammich. Peckers O line is much better than the Lions. Only reason Bears were in the game last week was from all the blitzing. I think Farverererer has proven able to avoid blitzes with ease. This one could be even uglier than last week. When your team is going down in flames, there is no shame in making a little money off it.

Lines from bodog 10/6

Packers -3.5 - in the words of Sunday Night John, Brett FAvre is Brett Favre, and Bears secondary gets worn out in the 2nd half.

Bears vs. GB over 41 The trend is low scoring 1st half & high scoring 2nd half. The Bears D has no depth and will give it up late.

Dallas -11 - Lots of points to give but the Bills look lost on D and the Cowboys made a believer out of me.

Pats -17 - Randy Moss & Tom Brady all the way. This is the best Show since Montana & Rice

Atl +8.5 Titans arent good enough to give that many points. The Falcons keep it close and might actually win this one.

Chief +2 - Another home dog with signs of life from last week. The chiefs carry the momentum another week.

I'm in a league where you pick five games against the spread each week, and you win money if you go 5-0. I picked against four of your picks, and your other one was my "coldn't quite pull the trigger" pick. One of us is going to be really wrong.

Purdue -7.5 vs. OSU- That extra half-point is worth all the world to me. I've been waiting and waiting, and Bodog has was willing to oblige; with the way the Big 10 has gone thus far, I expect this one to stay close. I'll also be playing Purdue on the moneyline, but obviously I don't want that play working against me here.

Central Florida @ East Carolina UNDER 53.5

ECU's offense is not all that super and while UCF has played well this year, on the road they havent played as great as at home.

Nebraska @ Mizzou -6

Chase Daniel is the best QB you haven't heard of. He's throwing for 340+ yards a game and while Mizzou's D isn't that great - it'll be good enough to bring Mizzou home a winner.

Utah State @ Hawaii -40

Utah State might be the worst team in the country. They are averaging 15 pts a game and giving up an average of 430 yards a game on D. Colt Brennan is going to pad his stats in this one.

UNLV @ Air Force UNDER 44
Neither team is lighting up the scoreboard and with winds projected near 30 MPH tonight there goes the passing game.

ND @ UCLA - 21.5

After laying an egg versus Utah a couple of weeks back, UCLA has averaged 40+ the last two weeks against better teams (Wash and Oregon State). They should be able to match that or better against the Irish

Jets +3.5 vs. Giants The giants defense pretty much stops and ends with the defensive ends. Luckily, the Jets are pretty good at the tackle position. Take away true home field advatage, and you have a close game.

Bears +3, there it is, all you naysayers, I am going against popular opinion on this one in hope my good luck thus far will spur the bears

Bears/Packers Over 41, I just don't see this game not being in the 30s and semi competitive

Atlanta +8.5 not sold on Vince Young being able to blow a team out yet, he still make too many sophomore mistakes

New Orleans -3. this is the week, steckert proves a formidable substitute for deuce and runs for 125 hard yards on 23 carries 2 tds

Cleveland +16.5, I keep getting burned on this, but eventually someone is going to gameplan these guys to make it a semi close game. Cleveland is hot right now

Indy -9.5, at home against a hot Tampa Bay team, no worries, TB gets back to the AFC domination over NFC reality we live in
