IIRC Boilermaker Rick posted some stats he would like to see from Cutler at the end of the season. I can't find them but I believe Cutler is on pace to surpass all of the numbers.

I don't care about numbers. I want him to lead and I want to see wins. I want him to become an all time great. I don't know if he was ever suppose to be that or not, but that is what I expect of him.

He's won more games than he's lost. Unless he leads the Bears to 3 or 4 SB victories I think all time great is out the window. I predict he will do a lot of winning this season.

Instead he's on pace to have the best season of his career and has put up great numbers after 4 games.

1006 passing yards
10 touchdowns
4 interceptions
94.7 QB Rating
68 rushing yards
77% of total offense
His numbers lie though. He was bad against Buffalo and bad against the Packers. It will even out just like the interception numbers have already started to creep up.

Those also aren't great numbers besides the total numbers of touchdowns.

Agreed. Plus he only averages 6.6 yards/attempt, which is very pedestrian. Overall, the team's scoring is also only slightly above average at 23 pts/game.

Nas might need a life line, he is having a bad morning. He has Brick and Midge after him.

They are playing with their top two receivers and offensive linemen hurt. Two years ago that would have sent the Bears into full turtle mode.

I want the team I root for to obliterate their competition on a weekly basis. I'm tired of complaining because it accomplishes nothing and gives me palpitations.

I don't care who is QBing this team I just want them to win and to split with the Pack every season and the Lions.

I'd like to see Jay hit the completion % goal he and his coach have set (over 65%), and I want to see Jay win games not lose them.

I can see some changes from him, but they are not coming fast enough.

Complaining just to complain is awful and no way to live.

If I had nothing to complain about the Bears my life would be even better and my keyboard would be happier.

Never ceases to amaze me with the excuses.

These are facts of the NFL:
Players get hurt
QB's sometimes don't have great talent around them
QB's sometimes have bad lines
QB's sometimes don't have great running games to support them
QB's sometimes have bad coordinators/coaches

This year, the excuse is the injuries to the receivers. You know what? Jay Cutler is one of the highest paid QB's in the NFL. Go win anyway. He just put up 17 points at home against one of the worst defenses in the NFL (and all three big receivers played).

Saying he is not "elite" is just a redundant statement at this point. He's not elite and never will be. All fans are looking for is someone who can put up above average numbers and stay mistake-free enough to make the playoffs and make a Super Bowl run. I do not feel that he will ever accomplish this.

no excuse. The offense is pretty good today. They will be elite with all their horses back.

Slausen, who was their top rated lineman last year, Garza, Jeffrey has been highly limited and Marshall is running tight end routes...other than that, the guy they anticipated being their #3 WR, the guy who was their only FB and the guy who was going to be their #2 TE

Wow, for a person that didn't watch the game on Sunday you sure seem to know a lot. Marshall seemed quite fine running the wrong route down the field. All it took was 1 week and 1 loss and damn if the excuses aren't everywhere. Get the air pump, this bubble needs some air.

Marshall was reduced to running short routes against the 49ers and Jets.

Again, for the visually impaired, there is no excuse. They are a good offense TODAY. They will be an elite offense with everyone healthy, just as they were last year.

At least can agree on that part. If they are so injured, don't play. They are not helping themselves by being out there. It just seems to me as more of a excuse, but we won't agree.

It's hard to argue he shouldn't play when he is catching TD with a route that basically calls for him to run five yards, turn around and box everyone out.

Then it sounds like you will have this excuse all year long.

I amazes me that people can tell someone not to mention the many injuries the offense has suffered because it's just another excuse for Cutler's play. These same people are quick to excuse his 40 touchdowns and 4000 yards pace as aberration. You can't have it both ways.

Some advice - nobody is gonna feel bad for your NFL team that has some injuries. The Bears didn't have 1 starter on offense hurt last year except Cutler, and that improved the team. Injuries are a part of the league. Injuries are also the sole reason the Bears even had a chance at the division last year.

As much as you want within reason.

Even bet. Throw in a minimum of 14 games played if you want.

I'm a reasonable and confident man so I'll go with $100.

14 game minimum for him and Forte.
