All of those trades, all of those picks (save Bryant) could have been accomplished with a good team...a team of competent players signed to three year deals that would have all been concluded just as the prospects became MLB ready.

The(o) Plan is bad because it voluntarily conceded three (and counting) World Series.
Today, Dan basically said that there was no better option than this plan, so take that!?

he is incorrect

The only difference between a team trying to be good and the team the Cubs presented the last three years is Bryant. Granted, Bryant is very good but not worth three years worth of bad.

Theo saying they showed they could compete within the division is referencing them playing .500ish baseball over the last 4 months.

Dan even said that with the Cardinals, Pirates, Reds, and Brewers all being competitive within the division themselves, the Cubs' window could easily come and go without them ever making the playoffs, and that's just fine, because at least they did it their way. Get the fuck out of here.

Wayne Randazzo, I'm going to have to ask you to stop referring to the "Canadiennes." They're not women.

I checked, the Cubs pythag record was actually worse the second half of the season. Not sure what to think of that. Hmmm.

It's is SOOOOOOO Dan for him to already start walking his way back as soon as Theo says "Hey, we may be good soon".

Do you believe in Theo's plan? Your response was no.

This is the problem. It presupposes that, but for the losing season, multiple titles could not have been won. My position is that, with the upgrades in scouting and (eventually) revenue, those multiple titles were still available without the intentional losing.

The only thing that weakens my argument is if Bryant is the World Series MVP because he really is the only piece the Cubs couldn't have obtained should they won...and even he would have been replaced with someone who should be pretty good if you trust your scouting.

If the Cubs are still under .500 Theo is going to need that Billy the Cub costume to get out of town without being tarred and feathered

.423 pythag after June 1st. Second worst in NL.

Do you believe in Theo's plan? Your response was no.

No, its not. Again, your obsession with boiling everything down to only two possible answers rears its ugly head. I almost think you're doing a bit now.

I think the plan has a decent chance to work eventually but its already taken too long. I like a lot about the plan but think it could have been executed quicker.

A 7 year old could understand that and state the position better than you.

I understand it better than you. Your answer is "Maybe". It is certainly not "No".

That's a dramatic departure from his "ALL THAT MATTERS IS WINNING CHAMPIONSHIPS!" mantra.

What a twit.

JORR's definition of believing in Theo's plan includes many insane things like saying the losing was neccessary, its THE ONLY way to win, and its guarenteed to work. I said NO to believing in those things.

From here on out, if you represent it otherwise, we'll know you're just being intentionally dishonest.

Let's cut to the chase and get back to it. Time to start over.

Do you believe in Theo's plan*? YES OR NO

*-By Theo's plan, I mean if you think it will be successful in making them competitive for years and give them a great chance of making the World Series.
