You think Williams was conceding power and taking consultation?

"Houseboy" is the perfect descriptor of Danny when it comes to Theo.

You can think whatever you like as far as Hahn's past input but I know for sure no one besides JR ever made a final decision for KW.

I wonder why that is. Someone remind me... Was it Dan that said it or did we make the joke and it morphed that Theo would be a success because he can make a deal at the synagogue?

He said that joining the right synagogue would be important for Theo in getting Wrigley renovation plans approved.

No, Dan wondered out loud whether Theo would join Rahm Emanuel's synagogue because all politics is local. Spiegel was a little offended, to his credit.

Yup that's how I recalled it. Spiegel tried to play it off as a joke but Dan doubled down.

It really does surprise me in this current climate Dan gets away with so many things.

Where dannys thoughts fall apart is, that nobody has been harsher on the cubs than G Witt! he rips them at every chance.

Then he actually says something is OK, specifically Bryant not being upset about being brought up. Gordon talks about speaking to Bryant and the cubs about it. Would the kid have liked to have been called up, sure, but he is in now way upset about it. Bryant went around the country collecting some minor league player of the year awards, then went home to crash in his room at his parents house.

He fully understood why he wasnt called up and accepted it.

Dan claims that Bryant is upset about it. This is exactly why G Witt told danny to 'Kiss his ass" and now Danny is focused on ripping Gordon about not undertanding "The Plan"

Sounds like the way some around here argue. Change the issue and then focus on that.

You have it reversed. Dan says it is no big deal. Gordon says it was and that he talked to people who knew it was.

That last one about mustard is blasphemous. Man should never talk about firing up Kingsfords again.

I read two articles http://voices.suntimes.com/sports/kris- ... exclusive/ and http://www.suntimes.com/sports/baseball ... C1zd1fwHLQ Taken in combination it seems Bernstein is trying to put words into Wittenmyer's mouth, although G Witt may have an axe to grind, that is also his job. I also listened to the podcast from transition (45 second in) and G Witt calls him out directly for questioning his credibility and questions Danny's. It took Bernstein a full minute to have anything to say, at which point he just says "its a bit, WWE stuff."

Many here have questioned the veracity of B&B's sources, others around town seem to know much better. When someone comes onto your station and calls you out, the least you should be able to do is something more than meekly deflect. The insinuation becomes clear--if not valid--by the poor response.

As a listener it would be nice if occasionally they had on someone who could verify or support their claims, whether that be an assistant GM, a marketing executive, a staff accountant, or the assistant to the receptionist. The lead cheerleader, the team's announcer, does not qualify.

Dan's got some balls. He accuses a journalist of fabrication, the journalist stands his ground and snaps back, and all Dan can do is treat him like a Bears caller: "Is this a bit?"

maybe dan has figured out something that i figured out in life: 10% of people are gonna believe your bullshit, 30% aren't, and the other 60% aren't gonna care either way. stick with what you know.

But he just said yesterday that he has done six year's worth of work in three.

Well, he's also said he's behind schedule due to the expansion.

Which makes sense. He probably thought it would be like 75% build the minors 25% spending and it ended up being 98/2

So now what should have taken six years, building up the minors, is done. But the major league team has been fucked in the meanwhile, largely due to spending like a small market.

I can see how both statements are true there.

I definitely think he underestimated Tommy's tight wallet.

No Sanchez, No Darvish, No Tanaka.

Never in the conversation for Greinke, Choo, Cano.

personally both me and ralph wiggum would choo-choo-choose to not pay choo's salary going forward. they inadvertently dodged a bullet there.

can't korea technically still bring him back for military service? or did he get that whole thing taken care of?
