Try the Cubs section. They seem to like you.

It's been nice watching it with my dad and definitely helps. The more of it you watch, the better feel you get for the game, and you see things with out realizing it. The game threads are pretty good but I would be down for watching a game with you guys.

Hockey is special on the board and generally avoids the normal crap.

Definitely. Hockey is a much better "TV show" than football is now, thanks to high definition and better camera work. Three 90-second timeouts per period, two 17-minute intermissions, and action the rest of the time. You're in and out in two and a half hours and didn't spend most of it watching guys stand around slapping each other's asses.
Still can't see the puck in motion.

It seems about half the time you only know there was a goal because the people on the ice reacted that it was.

I miss the Fox puck tracer.

They should make the puck bright orange or something. Maybe hot pink.

I don't mind highlighting the puck on replays but it would annoy the shit out of me in real time.

The NHL couldn't work something out with the Komen people.

Why does the NHL hate women?

That made me laugh. Ok, I'll lay it out there. You seem like one of the most cultured and intelligent posters on the boards. In some ways, that conflicts with you being an avid hockey fan. You are quite picky, whether that be geographic regions or music. Whatever ails you, a big hug from a drunk Hockey Gay will make it all better!

Or you can just stand there and let him kick your ass!!!

There's a "5-hole" joke in there somewhere ....

Actually, the NHL supports breast cancer (pink) and prostate cancer (baby blue) in equal measure and does everything up in sort of an all-encompassing lavender.

So the NHL is half-assing awareness for two different cancers?

I'll take half-assing over the NFL's pinkwashing.

I'm going to admit I'm dumb enough, and perplexed with major league sports management in general enough, to not know if you're being serious or not.

(and denis' characterization of you is dead-on presuming one takes it as purely complimentary)

I'm not making it up. The truth can be stranger than fiction in the old NHL.

Also, I seem to have committed the classic boner in which one messes up the dynamics of fighting cancer and supporting awareness by saying that the NHL "supports breast cancer." Oh well, at least it's not as bad as "the fight against breasts."

So the NHL simply tolerates women, like we do with Spaulding.

You know, on second thought that's actually not bad. No reason one can't be part of both simultaneously. Though for people with less disciplined minds that wander aimlessly without abandon, going from prostate cancer to thinking about hockey sticks, it gets a little uncomfortable. At least the fella on the right has a towel to wipe it down with.
