Chicago in April (draft) might actually be worse than Chicago in February (SB) because at least February has the decency and grace to guarantee that it'll fucking suck whereas April goes bad on you the day you try to plan something nice, like, say, a Saturday at a museum, or a Cubs game, or a football draft. More than anything, it'll just be excruciatingly Second City to watch everyone go bananas over Big Daddy Rahm landing the mighty NFL Draft, an event of such heft that Radio City kicked it out to put on another fucking Rockettes show.

I wouldn't be jet fan, I just think it would be cool to go to once. And the price is right.

I'm guessing the United Center is not an option with the Bulls and Blackhawks wrapping up their regular seasons/starting their postseasons. The Chicago Theatre is probably the closest analogue to having it at Radio City but that may require fans to wear sport coats. Maybe they'll have it at McCormick Place and then have it be somehow insufficient so that Rahm can use it as a reason to build a new arena and a TIF-funded Marriott nearby.

It was free in NYC. Just had to wait in line with all the other lunatics.

It'd be cool to say you went once, booed Goodel and then admit it was boring and awful and not worth it.

The city will probably find a way to lose millions on this.

From MY GUY...Danny Ecker of Crain's

The 2015 NFL Draft will be held in Chicago next April and May at the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University, according to the Chicago Bears.

A source with knowledge of the decision said the news will formally be announced this evening and that hosting the draft will include other events around the city.

The draft, which has been held at Radio City Music Hall in New York City since 2006 and in the Big Apple every year since 1965, is moving next year due to scheduling conflicts.

The Auditorium Theatre has a seating capacity of just over 3,900 seats, far smaller than Radio City Music Hall, which seats 6,000.

Chicago and Los Angeles had been rumored to be finalists to host the event, and league officials in June visited Chicago to size up potential host venues, including the Chicago Theatre.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel has recently pushed for the NFL to bring the draft to Chicago in hopes of boosting tourism and putting Chicago on a big stage with the increasingly popular NFL showcase.

Spokesmen for the NFL and Mayor Emanuel's office did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

This year's draft saw a record 45.7 million TV viewers over the three draft days on ESPN, ESPN2 and the NFL Network, according to Nielsen, topping the previous record of 45.4 million viewers in 2010.

The announcement comes exactly five years after Chicago lost its 2016 Olympic bid.

Auditorium Theater seems like a bad choice and I'm shocked The Shield would even allow this. McCormick Center would probably be ideal and could be configured almost any possible way to make it happen.

This venue looks too nice to be filled with groaning Jets fans.

I really would have like the Chicago Theater. They could have blocked off the street in front of it the day of the event and ESPN Chicago is located directly across the street for full impact synergy.

I could still see them tying that in. The Chicago Theatre was too small though, right?

Would the CTA 22nd St McCormick Place Green Line stop be done in time for that?

Most of the idiots going to this thing wouldn't even consider using the Green Line, so it probably doesn't matter.

What about Metra Electric?

Doesn't that let you off in a poorly lit concrete bunker?

You'd think the train station for a giant convention center would be more than an afterthought.
