What is also convenient is you and others on here keep framing it as though the money involved were equal or similar. What are u practicing a new form of voodoo economics. It wasn't. Your arguments are all too predictable. You either obscure facts or shape arguments that have nothing to do with the actual discussion. It is a neat little trick yet easily refuted. The fact remains that the best record the Knicks have had during the last 15 years has been with Anthony as their best player. That team was garbage before he came in and they have improved with him. This along with other valid points will be conveniently avoided and dissenting opinions will be centered on Anthony bashing or some supposed love that I have Melo the man the myth the legend. Get over yourself
You're arguing for the fact that Carmelo Anthony doesn't have the mindset of someone that wants to win. He doesn't have that edge.
You can display that with the statistics, or you can display that by him choosing to play on teams that cannot win.
If he is such a bum then why did Phil and the Knicks pay him the type of money that will cripple the franchise? Wouldn't it be easier to let him go and rebuild?
Why have the Knicks done anything they've done in the last 15 years?
Anyway...Carmelo is a draw to casual fans like yourself. He sells tickets and merchandise - and the Knicks would never rebuild.

It doesn't have anything to do with mindset to win. That is Bernsteinesque sports talk psychoanalysis. The guy simply took the money and ran. He sacrificed winning for money. He made a decision that you and others that keep bashing him would have made if given the choice.
After the first 100 million, the next couple million seem less important. At some point, I would realize I am a professional basketball player - not many get to be that. And if I had some amount of talent greater than average, I would want to cement myself as one of the all-time greats. There is a legacy that goes beyond money. At this point, Carmelo will always be extremely wealthy. Where will he be 10 years after he retires? With $100M or $120M, the same exact spot. But if he became a winner? No one is going to talk about Rashard Lewis 10 years after he retires.
