"Then focus on pitching. Just get me some goddamn pitching."

Sale / Quintana / Rodon is a great place to start though.

I think Jackie Bradley Jr. is a more realistic target as he seems to be the odd man out in a crowded Boston outfield. Plus he's under team control until 2020 while Heyward is a free agent after next season.

He's atrocious at the plate. Like, doesnt even know what is going on. He also has a thing for creating outs once he's on the basepaths

Buuuuuut this might not be a bad idea...

Trade for Jackie Bradley Jr on top of a Heyward trade:

1. A Eaton CF L
2. M Semien 3B R
3. J Abreu 1B R
4. J Heyward RF L
5. A Garcia DH R
6. A Ramirez SS R
7. C Sanchez 2B S
8. T Flowers C R
9. J Bradley Jr. LF L

That legitimately turns me on. Bradley Jr. can play all 3 OF positions very well, so in the event of an Eaton injury Avi just slides into the OF to create a Heyward in RF, JBJ in CF and Avi in LF group. That's still a fantastic OF defensively. But even better Avi can rotate in with Eaton and occasionally Heyward to keep the wear and tear off the guys. This is the way I've been pining for the DH to be used by the White Sox for years. I can put up with Bradley's cluelessness at the plate to facilitate the best OF defense in the game.

Question is, and now I think about this, the Sox are losing Viciedo, Gillaspie and something in the minors that isnt hopeless already for Heyward in this scenario. What convinces the Red Sox to give the White Sox JBJ? Erik Johnson/Matt Davidson + something else? Maybe Cherrington likes Courtney Hawkins enough to make the trade straight up?

He's a perfect fit for the White Sox!

Bradley Jr can hit. He just has to be given the chance without an anvil hanging over his head. People also said Adam Eaton couldn't hit.

So who is on the wish list for Sox fans?

I would think, other than a completely new bullpen, they would want to look at Denard Span, Melky Cabrera, Nick Markakis, Emilio Bonerface, Micheal Cuddyer, and Russell Martin.

I think any (all) of those guys would be an upgrade over what the Sox have.

I don't want to spend much money on the bullpen although I suspect they will look to add at least one veteran reliever.

They need to upgrade defensively, and have at least 2 offensive upgrades. If they're looking to compete next season, they need a right handed pitcher who can be a #3 type starter.

They have some financial flexibility, I can only hope they don't squander it.

No. What I said was, nobody who plays 1800 games is "bad at baseball".

Acquiring information isn't difficult. Understanding it is.

I agree.

That is the problem with B&B's meme. You lose perspective by referring to a pro athlete simply as bad at ___. In order to play in MLB or NFL you most definitely are not bad. Maybe just not as good as others.

The Sox had him playing OF, 2B, SS and 3B at Charlotte this year. They got a little carried away trying to make him Ben Zobrist and he couldn't make all those transitions defensively. He was pretty good at 2B in April (of course the Sox want to put Micah Johnson at 2nd so...).

I'm not gonna panic just yet about it.

I think you have had a stroke.

You disagreed with me because you like to do that.

You're not good because you play 1800 games. You play in 1800 games because you're good. I understand Dunston was a disaapointment for Cub fans who expect more from a high draft pick. We can have this same conversation about Kris Bryant in twenty years when his career looks like Klesko and you say he was "bad".

So apparently Yasmani Tomas wants to play with Abreu. ALL OF THE CUBANS.

Candidates to replace Dodgers GM Ned Colletti include Yankees Assistant General Manager Billy Eppler, White Sox President Kenny Williams , Indians President Mark Shapiro and Rays President Andrew Friedman.

I don't like it. Kenny needs to stay where he is in case it turns out Rick Hahn doesn't have the testicular fortitude for the job. Plus it will make it very difficult for me to continue hating the Dodgers and I LOVE hating the Dodgers.

Kenny may love his gig but I have no doubt he would love to be in the limelight of LA

You think Rios would accept a small, one year contract?

I'm sure he would but I think they should go after a left handed hitting corner outfielder. There should be a some pretty good options available thru trade or free agency.

Royals claimed OF Moises Sierra off waivers from the White Sox.

Thank. God.
