This groove is locked the fuck in. Yeah, Liebezeit's the man.

I just meant it was more listener friendly than what I was expecting..
And as a drummer, I could listen to Halleluhwah all day.
That guy was a machine.

He really was. They called him the human metronome. I'd say that he was a metronome with humanity. He drums on Brian Eno's Another Green World, one of my favorite albums of all time. Robert Fripp and John Cale are on there, too. It's an all-star team.

Have you gotten to Soon Over Babaluma yet? With neither Malcolm Mooney nor Damo Suzuki, there's a theretofore distinct lack of mental illness. Lots of people say it's weak, but I find it quite enjoyable.

No. Is that another CAN record?
I've just been looking at a list of "50 Incredibly Tough Albums For Extreme Listeners"
and let's just say after some of the utter shit on that list (Throbbing Gristle, XIU XIU, Whitehouse, John Zorn etc.)
Tago Mago seems like OK COMPUTER to me.

Yeah, it's the last Can album before they got boring and crappy.

Which Throbbing Gristle is on there? 20 Jazz Funk Greats is all I have of theirs, and that isn't difficult so much as just kind of boring compared to industrial albums that would come later.

Zorn is a test. I have to be in the right mood for Naked City.

It's a travesty that Marty is listed third, but otherwise this is pretty much as amazing as I was hoping.

Now if we could just get a proper release of "Music of the Spheres"...

That's Phil Collins on drums.

I thought he and Liebezeit split duties, then Liebezeit did all of Before and After Science. Maybe I've been mistaken all these years.

You may be right. I always heard PC associated w/the album. Not sure about individual tracks.

Sounds really, really good. STRONGLY considering going to them (and Speedy Ortiz) at Emoty Bottle 10/25.

Bagels?

Marigolden -- Field Report

These guys broke out as a new band out of Milwaukee a couple of years ago. This is their sophomore
effort and while not as strong as their first album, still pretty good.

For a collection of unreleased songs - NOT BAD!

There are a few that I'd easily have considered one of the top tracks on their last few albums.

I have to say I'm pretty impressed with the new Weezer album.
Haven't been able to say that in a long time.
:D

I'm about halfway through with this one. So far pretty good. His last album is worth a listen if you like Beck.
Definitely in my personal top 5 this year.

His touring band is really good. Joey Waronker is a tight drummer.

Morning Phase is one of many, many albums I have sitting on my hard drive that I have yet to hear.

What's with Beck always posing with his mouth half-open like a swimsuit model?

Maybe he's just that much in awe of his eclectic blend of genres!

Don't know, but I bought both of those this year and have enjoyed them very much.
